[00:00.000 -> 00:05.760] Everyone welcome along to a very special exclusive announcement on high performance that
[00:06.200 -> 00:09.440] That the very next episode we're releasing on high performance is
[00:10.160 -> 00:11.640] round two
[00:11.640 -> 00:14.880] With Johnny Wilkinson and you know what Damien I hesitate saying
[00:15.880 -> 00:21.540] Rugby World Cup winner Johnny Wilkinson because that's how we introduced the first time we met him and then we realized that rugby World Cup
[00:21.540 -> 00:23.540] Winner is about I don't know
[00:23.840 -> 00:26.000] 0.5% of whatr rhan fyddwn.
[00:26.000 -> 00:32.000] Roedd yna lawer mwy i Johnny. Roedd yn un o'r episodau sy'n newid y gêm y tro cyntaf
[00:32.000 -> 01:06.720] ac yn yr ail gwr credu, yna'n ymwneud â'r ymdrechion, ddim yn gwybod amdanynt, ddim yn gwybod beth oedd y cyfrifoldeb
[01:06.720 -> 01:10.480] arall, yn y cyfranog hon, rwy'n credu ymdrech o
[01:10.480 -> 01:14.160] hyn am yr hyn rydyn ni'n ceisio ei wneud gyda'r cyfrifoldeb
[01:14.160 -> 01:17.120] mae'n dod drwy. Iawn, yn debyg, rwy'n credu, y peth arall
[01:17.120 -> 01:20.160] anhygoel yw bod John wedi clywed y podcast, felly mae'n gallu
[01:20.160 -> 01:23.760] ymdrech ar ein gwestiynau cynhawn, Cia Khaleesi, Dr
[01:23.760 -> 01:26.080] Rongan Chatterjee, Mel Robbins, and he
[01:26.080 -> 01:29.640] offers his insights and his takes on what they shared with us too.
[01:29.640 -> 01:34.160] Okay, well the episode in full is going to be the next episode that we release here on
[01:34.160 -> 01:38.360] High Performance, but right now we're going to give you a nice little sneaky exclusive
[01:38.360 -> 01:44.160] preview. So here is a little listen to what you can expect from Johnny Wilkinson, coming
[01:44.160 -> 01:46.620] very soon here on the high performance podcast
[01:48.280 -> 01:52.300] When those feelings come for me and I mentioned about the last two years, you know
[01:52.300 -> 01:55.420] I've had after I spoke to you guys maybe a couple years after I spoke to you guys, you know
[01:55.540 -> 02:01.760] We spoke about being what sort of place you're in and out of the blue. I'm back where I've been when I was 26
[02:02.680 -> 02:04.680] right in the heart of
[02:05.960 -> 02:09.220] Really intense I've been when I was 26, right in the heart of really intense conflict out of nowhere.
[02:10.720 -> 02:15.020] You know, like proper shivering, panic, everything.
[02:15.020 -> 02:18.460] Madness to think that, oh, the arrogance of I'm here
[02:18.460 -> 02:21.440] and life's great, and then suddenly you're kind of like,
[02:21.440 -> 02:24.680] oh, God, and of course everything sort of comes up
[02:24.680 -> 02:25.760] in that space.
[02:25.760 -> 02:28.480] Because of that energy state, you think, well hold on,
[02:28.480 -> 02:29.520] I'm gonna just sit with this.
[02:29.520 -> 02:31.840] But that ability to sit with something
[02:31.840 -> 02:35.280] belongs to an energy state which is already really at ease.
[02:35.280 -> 02:37.200] So now you're basing yourself in an energy state
[02:37.200 -> 02:39.200] which is really conflicted,
[02:39.200 -> 02:42.160] that you think you're just gonna be able to sit in it.
[02:42.160 -> 02:44.800] But the challenge is such that if it's not
[02:44.800 -> 02:46.840] really, really intense, it's not a challenge.
[02:46.840 -> 02:48.880] And I'm sat there thinking,
[02:48.880 -> 02:52.440] I know what I need to do here, but I can't do it.
[02:52.440 -> 02:55.800] I am compelled down that chain of,
[02:55.800 -> 02:56.940] I'm seeing things the way I do,
[02:56.940 -> 02:58.700] I am spiked feeling-wise.
[02:58.700 -> 03:00.640] Thoughts are coming up in me that I can't even
[03:00.640 -> 03:02.200] believe where they're coming from.
[03:02.200 -> 03:04.000] I'm thinking, this isn't me.
[03:04.000 -> 03:05.120] And I'm doing things, I'm thinking, I don't want to be doing this, but I have to do it. And I'm in that believe where they're coming from. I'm thinking this isn't me. And I'm doing things, I'm thinking,
[03:05.120 -> 03:06.840] I don't want to be doing this, but I have to do it.
[03:06.840 -> 03:09.480] And I'm in that space where I could be
[03:09.480 -> 03:12.040] a young child again, but I recognize it.
[03:12.040 -> 03:15.360] And it's so powerful because it's come out of the blue.
[03:15.360 -> 03:17.400] And now we're talking about what's my work.
[03:17.400 -> 03:19.800] I feel like I was asking for this.
[03:19.800 -> 03:21.320] I'm asking, do I want to go into potential?
[03:21.320 -> 03:22.880] And you get something in you which you recognize
[03:22.880 -> 03:25.000] from your entire life and you say
[03:28.200 -> 03:29.120] Why are you here? It's like what are you asking for you want to know?
[03:37.360 -> 03:40.980] Where your responsibility and your acceptance and your awareness can go it's like but this is a large part of what's holding it back So all these things you speak about when you're feeling pretty good there
[03:40.980 -> 03:43.640] They come a little bit more easy and you don't really have the depth to it
[03:43.640 -> 03:45.440] But then you get the big one that seemed
[03:45.440 -> 03:50.440] like the big one to me and you say right money where your mouth this time so
[03:50.440 -> 03:54.600] what's been the most effective way you've learned to dial down that mind
[03:54.600 -> 03:59.920] voice and start to recognize those feelings of excitement that might get
[03:59.920 -> 04:05.760] drowned out the big shift if you like if it's in any way possible to articulate, which is not,
[04:05.760 -> 04:09.560] I almost feel like I'm cheating this by saying it, but to try and put some kind of words
[04:09.560 -> 04:16.800] on it, would be that the three things that really make sense to me are awareness, acceptance
[04:16.800 -> 04:17.800] and responsibility.
[04:17.800 -> 04:23.760] And all of those, the reason they are so powerful is they're all infinite capacity.
[04:23.760 -> 04:25.300] So there's no
[04:25.300 -> 04:29.120] limit to what you can become aware of and there's no limit to what you can
[04:29.120 -> 04:33.740] accept and there's no limit to how and what you can respond to which is why
[04:33.740 -> 04:38.660] they're exciting one of those the first one the awareness is exactly that the
[04:38.660 -> 04:47.680] the big thing is being able to become aware of a situation and aware of what's happening without entering into it
[04:47.680 -> 04:50.800] and becoming recruited by it.
[04:50.800 -> 04:55.800] And that's the difference about finding that voice is that it's an awareness based thing.
[04:55.800 -> 04:58.200] It's not a mind based logical thing.
[04:58.200 -> 05:01.240] So hold on, if I sit like this and do this, I'll hear that voice.
[05:01.240 -> 05:06.360] It's putting yourself completely in that space of and this is where the
[05:06.360 -> 05:13.080] acceptance comes in fully welcoming lovingly whatever is happening and that
[05:13.080 -> 05:16.200] doesn't mean involving yourself in it and solving it as I was yeah I've been a
[05:16.200 -> 05:19.960] big one for that something comes up I get recruited by and I have to try and
[05:19.960 -> 05:27.560] solve it but by solving it I just feed it I get more of it and the ability to sit with that
[05:28.340 -> 05:29.460] feeling
[05:29.460 -> 05:33.740] But not sit with it in a way that says if I sit with it, it will reveal something to me again
[05:33.740 -> 05:39.040] That's conditional. So it's a loving welcoming unconditional relationship with something that feels horrible and
[05:39.780 -> 05:43.080] Feels tough and that's the difference
[05:43.680 -> 05:45.760] feels tough and that's the difference. You know one of the things I've enjoyed
[05:45.760 -> 05:46.920] most about sitting and having this
[05:46.920 -> 05:49.640] conversation is like I've actually got
[05:49.640 -> 05:51.320] quite a nice sense of freedom from it a
[05:51.320 -> 05:53.440] reminder that having an opinion is
[05:53.440 -> 05:55.520] handcuffing yourself and actually not
[05:55.520 -> 05:58.240] having an opinion is freeing not putting
[05:58.240 -> 06:00.520] people in boxes is freeing not having a
[06:00.520 -> 06:01.840] preconceived idea of what you're going
[06:01.840 -> 06:03.280] to get out of someone or even how
[06:03.280 -> 06:04.440] they're going to react to what you say
[06:04.440 -> 06:05.300] is totally freeing
[06:05.680 -> 06:07.680] Right, so we all care
[06:07.800 -> 06:13.880] Deeply about our wives and our parents and our siblings and our kids and those others are really like really close
[06:14.340 -> 06:19.520] So do we have a responsibility to make them feel like this because it is helpful and I know
[06:20.440 -> 06:23.920] My wife for example, there's areas here where she absolutely
[06:26.120 -> 06:31.000] my wife for example there's areas here where she absolutely wouldn't doesn't go there and I wish she would so should we put it on them and say no think like
[06:31.000 -> 06:38.280] this but then it's the it's the same issues that this might feel like a great
[06:38.280 -> 06:43.480] shift in your life but why is it a great shift in someone else's did you try and
[06:43.480 -> 06:46.540] share all this with your wife and I we I speak?
[06:47.160 -> 06:48.880] honestly about
[06:48.880 -> 06:50.880] What I feel about things I
[06:51.520 -> 06:54.100] Never I'm in the position of saying
[06:54.800 -> 06:59.460] You know this might help you. I'm kind of a how would I know that's what I can say is are
[07:00.160 -> 07:06.060] So what are you feeling about this? I feel this but I have no I don't come at it from the same stance as you so
[07:06.440 -> 07:08.280] you know, it's a bit like
[07:08.280 -> 07:13.120] You're running a hundred meter and you think I'm running faster than I'm beating this next person, but
[07:14.040 -> 07:16.280] For a start, you don't all start in the same place
[07:17.080 -> 07:20.720] Secondly, you're not all running the same direction. No one's running in a straight line
[07:20.920 -> 07:27.320] So now say who's being who you're kind of like well this person's been running for about five weeks I think we should encourage them
[07:27.320 -> 07:30.960] though because I think might I think I think take them somewhere but then they
[07:30.960 -> 07:36.880] can choose I think the thing I find interesting is there's a power in not
[07:36.880 -> 07:41.200] finding an answer yeah I'm becoming comfortable with that whereas what I
[07:41.200 -> 07:45.540] think can somehow be imposed
[07:45.540 -> 07:51.080] Or be it from a societal perspective is that there's an answer and when you find it
[07:51.840 -> 07:58.560] You move on but that answer is the next problem and it's normally the same problem over and over again
[08:01.740 -> 08:02.600] So, there you go
[08:02.600 -> 08:07.040] That's just a quick extract and a few snippets from our conversation with Johnny Wilkinson
[08:07.040 -> 08:10.560] Which is coming very soon here on the high performance podcast, you know
[08:10.560 -> 08:13.520] I messaged him afterwards and just said how much I enjoyed it and he said I
[08:14.120 -> 08:20.580] Appreciated the opportunity to connect like we did such a great way to live life and I I like that
[08:20.580 -> 08:22.180] This is exactly what it is really, isn't it?
[08:22.180 -> 08:26.600] And you get that sense from him that this is not just a way of thinking. This is a way of living
[08:26.680 -> 08:27.800] Yeah, definitely
[08:27.800 -> 08:33.540] he spoke about that in terms of like sometimes just sat in a chair and just allowing yourself to be to
[08:33.620 -> 08:40.040] Concentrate on your thoughts that are going through but how you physically feeling and the emotions that are passing through you
[08:40.040 -> 08:46.980] This is definitely a way of life and hopefully our listeners can take something away that they can incorporate into their own lives
[08:47.140 -> 08:51.460] Well, I really hope you enjoy it. It's the next episode. We're gonna release here on high performance
[08:51.500 -> 08:54.300] It's also going to be released on Johnny's own podcast as well
[08:54.300 -> 08:59.940] Which is called I am and if you haven't listened to any of those episodes, I would strongly suggest you check them out
