[02:39.040 -> 02:42.760] bite-sized episode of our podcast. I know that sometimes you just can't spare an
[02:42.760 -> 02:48.440] hour to be inspired by the guests who join us, so this is just a short bite-sized clip where we
[02:48.440 -> 02:51.880] just look back on something that we've spoken about with one of our guests and
[02:51.880 -> 02:55.040] without question one of the interviews that gets the most amount of feedback
[02:55.040 -> 02:58.600] and the most comments from people is with a man who's currently involved at
[02:58.600 -> 03:04.320] the Euros with England, Tyrone Mingz. He came on, he spoke so honestly, so openly
[03:04.320 -> 03:06.420] and we're going to just reflect
[03:06.420 -> 03:08.160] on one of the key messages from him,
[03:08.160 -> 03:11.180] which is about not stereotyping footballers.
[03:13.600 -> 03:18.600] I find it really tough to solely define myself
[03:19.120 -> 03:19.960] as a footballer.
[03:19.960 -> 03:22.960] So quite often when people say to me,
[03:22.960 -> 03:24.960] oh, what do you do for a living?
[03:24.960 -> 03:25.880] Oh, I play football.
[03:25.880 -> 03:27.240] You get labeled or something.
[03:27.240 -> 03:29.540] And having an identity away from that,
[03:29.540 -> 03:32.720] I think is so balancing for me.
[03:32.720 -> 03:34.440] Though I know that there's a bigger picture out there
[03:34.440 -> 03:35.920] and retirement will come one day,
[03:35.920 -> 03:38.280] but what do I wanna be when I retire?
[03:38.280 -> 03:40.000] Who do I wanna be?
[03:40.000 -> 03:41.880] Working towards that now,
[03:42.840 -> 03:46.640] I'm afforded the luxury of being able to set up businesses
[03:46.640 -> 03:49.880] with fairly small injections of capital
[03:50.840 -> 03:51.920] whilst playing football.
[03:51.920 -> 03:55.880] I can build a small team around me who can do it.
[03:55.880 -> 03:57.440] And I've set up three or four businesses
[03:57.440 -> 03:59.720] in different industries, basically to learn about it.
[03:59.720 -> 04:01.900] I think I feel like I learn from doing things.
[04:01.900 -> 04:03.800] I learn this, I read great books
[04:03.800 -> 04:06.120] and I can learn through reading,
[04:06.120 -> 04:09.240] but there's only so much that I can take in
[04:09.240 -> 04:10.520] by not doing it myself.
[04:10.520 -> 04:13.800] So I know that I enjoy business.
[04:13.800 -> 04:16.200] I know that I enjoy the kind of administrative side
[04:16.200 -> 04:19.960] of football and the kind of executive side of football,
[04:19.960 -> 04:21.120] but I also have a day job.
[04:21.120 -> 04:26.720] So I balance not letting the things I'm enjoying away from football,
[04:26.720 -> 04:32.960] getting involved in football, I balance being involved in that and being a professional footballer.
[04:32.960 -> 04:38.800] But as you can imagine, playing in the Premier League and playing for England takes up a lot of physical,
[04:38.800 -> 04:45.500] but also mental time. But it allows me to distract from that. It allows me to, when I come off a football pitch,
[04:45.500 -> 04:49.160] take the game and see it for what it is.
[04:49.160 -> 04:52.360] It's a game of football and I play for England
[04:52.360 -> 04:54.360] and that is a game for my country,
[04:54.360 -> 04:57.160] which is the greatest badge of honour you can wear.
[04:58.440 -> 04:59.640] You know, Damien, there's a phrase
[04:59.640 -> 05:02.060] that really resonates with me that you once said
[05:02.060 -> 05:04.200] when I spoke to you about the fact that I get
[05:04.200 -> 05:07.320] that same thing from football fans going, oh you know you should have stuck
[05:07.320 -> 05:10.920] to children's BBC. I mean basically when I went to Formula One everyone said
[05:10.920 -> 05:15.520] stick to kids TV then when I went to football everyone said ah stick to
[05:15.520 -> 05:18.640] Formula One I don't know whatever I do next I'll be told to stick to football or
[05:18.640 -> 05:23.800] whatever but you said to me Jake they are just werewolves howling at the moon
[05:23.800 -> 05:27.000] the world has moved on and they haven't moved with it and I always reminded Iawn, dwi'n glir. Dwi'n glir bod hynny'n helpu, oherwydd rwy'n credu, dyma un o'r pethau rydyn ni'n ei weld fel thema ar llawer o'n gwestiynau,
[05:27.000 -> 05:32.000] yw bobl sy'n daro i wneud peth gwahanol, sy'n daro i ddod allan o'r norm,
[05:32.000 -> 05:36.000] cynnwys cyfrifoldeb, cynnwys pobl sy'n swpio i'w ymdrechu,
[05:36.000 -> 05:39.000] yn dweud wrthym pam mae'n gwaith, pam mae'n gwaith,
[05:39.000 -> 05:41.000] ac yn ymddangos y byddai'n gweithio'n dda.
[05:41.000 -> 05:43.000] Ac mae'n dweud wrthym, mae'n dweud wrthym,
[05:43.000 -> 05:45.280] mae'n dweud wrthym, mae'n dweud wrthym, mae'n dweud wrthym,r norm, ddod o'r cyfrifiad, ddod o'r cyfrifiad,
[05:45.280 -> 05:47.280] ddod o'r cyfrifiad,
[05:47.280 -> 05:49.280] ddod o'r cyfrifiad,
[05:49.280 -> 05:51.280] ddod o'r cyfrifiad,
[05:51.280 -> 05:53.280] ddod o'r cyfrifiad,
[05:53.280 -> 05:55.280] ddod o'r cyfrifiad,
[05:55.280 -> 05:57.280] ddod o'r cyfrifiad,
[05:57.280 -> 05:59.280] ddod o'r cyfrifiad,
[05:59.280 -> 06:01.280] ddod o'r cyfrifiad,
[06:01.280 -> 06:03.280] ddod o'r cyfrifiad,
[06:03.280 -> 06:05.720] ddod o'r cyfrifiad, ddod o'r cyfrifiad, ddod o'r cybl hwn yn dweud, mae'n TV i'r plant. Nid oeddech chi'n mynd i'r bobl i'r gwybodaeth,
[06:05.720 -> 06:08.720] felly dydych chi ddim yn mynd i'r bobl i wrando ar eu cyfathrebu hefyd.
[06:08.720 -> 06:10.120] Rwy'n credu bod un o'r broblemau gwych, wrth gwrs,
[06:10.120 -> 06:12.080] wrth gwrs, wrth gwrs,
[06:12.080 -> 06:14.120] yw bod rhai o'r bobl sy'n cymryd y gwybodaeth hwn
[06:14.120 -> 06:16.480] o gysylltu â chwaraewyr ffotbol
[06:16.480 -> 06:18.320] yn bobl sy'n ddweud bod yn gwybod'n well.
[06:18.320 -> 06:19.880] Mae'n bobl sy'n chwarae'r gêm,
[06:19.880 -> 06:22.280] mae'n bobl sy'n arwainol yn y gêm,
[06:22.280 -> 06:24.240] mae'n bobl sydd gael platfform gwahanol,
[06:24.240 -> 06:28.100] ac maen nhw'n gweld, you know, Hector Beyerin,
[06:28.100 -> 06:30.300] who's really into sustainability or fashion,
[06:30.300 -> 06:32.400] or Paul Pogba, who's really into music,
[06:32.400 -> 06:36.200] or Tyrone Mings, who's really into setting up businesses.
[06:36.200 -> 06:39.600] And for some reason, they see that and decide to say
[06:39.600 -> 06:41.000] that they're distracted from the game.
[06:41.000 -> 06:43.100] They can't give it their all.
[06:43.100 -> 06:45.400] They're taking their mind off their football.
[06:48.700 -> 06:51.400] Whereas if those same people just put up messages on their social media feeds about playing computer games from when
[06:51.400 -> 06:53.800] they get home to when they go to bed, there'd be none of
[06:53.800 -> 06:57.000] those comments because we expect that footballers play computer
[06:57.000 -> 06:57.300] games.
[06:57.300 -> 07:00.700] We don't expect that they're into fashion and the environment
[07:00.700 -> 07:06.080] and, you know, being great leaders like Marcus Rashford has become. I can't understand why we can possibly think that just because y byd, ac, wnes i, oedd yn rhaid i ni ddweud y byddwn yn gwybod beth yw'r ffynonell yma.
[07:06.080 -> 07:12.240] Mae'n rhaid i ni ddweud, oherwydd mae gennych ddiddordeb o ffynonell,
[07:12.240 -> 07:15.280] mae'n rhaid i chi ddweud, oherwydd mae gennych ddiddordeb o ffynonell,
[07:15.280 -> 07:17.920] mae'n rhaid i ni ddweud, oherwydd mae gennych ddiddordeb o ffynonell,
[07:17.920 -> 07:18.960] yw'r ffynonell yma.
[07:19.600 -> 07:23.680] Ffynonell. Un aeth, ffynonell. Rwy'n credu pan ddim yn deall rhywbeth,
[07:23.680 -> 07:25.240] mae'n ein mwyaf, yw'n eitha'i ddifrifio, neu'n eitha'i ddwywydd, rwy'n credu pan ddim yn deall rhywbeth, mae'n ein hunain i'r un sy'n
[07:25.240 -> 07:32.160] ymdrech i'w ddifrifio neu'n ymdrech i'w ddysgu neu'n ymdrech i'w ddysgu fel ffactor. Dyma un o'r
[07:32.160 -> 07:37.800] pethau sydd yn cael eu sôn yn aml o ran ymdrech i'w stereotypu. Byddai unrhyw un sy'n
[07:37.800 -> 07:43.920] nesu'r cwmni hwn yn ymdrechu nad oedd yn ddreu i wneud adroddiadau racista, sexista neu homofobig,
[07:43.920 -> 07:45.440] mae'n ymdrech iddo. Ac er mofobig, mae'n ymwneud â nhw.
[07:45.440 -> 07:50.000] Ac er mwyn i ni ddod yn ymwneud â'n ffotbolaeth tybiol,
[07:50.000 -> 07:54.240] neu'n ymwneud â'r rheolwr senior, neu'n ffatcat cymdeithasol fawr.
[07:54.240 -> 07:57.760] Ac wrth i chi wneud ymdrech hwnnw, rydych chi'n dal i wneud stereotyp
[07:57.760 -> 08:03.440] o seiliedig ar y model cymdeithasol sydd gennych chi ar eich gofyn.
[08:03.440 -> 08:06.560] Ac yr hyn sy'n digwydd yn aml, unith y gwnaethoch chi stereotypu rhywun,
[08:06.560 -> 08:11.680] dyna'r stepyn i'w dehumaniseo. Ac wrth dehumaniseo rhywun, beth sy'n digwydd,
[08:11.680 -> 08:16.400] ac fel cyfansoddiad, maen nhw'n siarad am y 3D, rydych chi'n delio, dystortio neu'n ddysgwyl eu
[08:16.400 -> 08:19.840] gwybodaethau. Dych chi'n dweud, dydw i ddim wedi clywed iddyn nhw ddweud hynny, dydyn nhw ddim yn golygu hynny.
[08:19.840 -> 08:25.080] Yr hyn sy'n ymwneud â hyn yn wir, yw'r hyn sy'n eithaf hwnn Ac mae'n haws i'w wneud hynny pan roeddwn ni wedi gwneud stereotyp
[08:25.080 -> 08:26.280] o unigol.
[08:26.280 -> 08:27.760] Ac dyna pam
[08:27.760 -> 08:29.840] yw'r hyn y mae Tyrone yn ei ddweud yn y clip hon
[08:29.840 -> 08:31.200] a'r hyn y mae nifer o'n gwestiynau
[08:31.200 -> 08:31.800] wedi ei ddweud yw,
[08:31.800 -> 08:32.720] ddysgu,
[08:32.720 -> 08:33.800] ceisio deall,
[08:33.800 -> 08:36.680] ceisio gweld y byd o'n perspectif.
[08:36.680 -> 08:38.360] Ac fel y dweudwch,
[08:38.360 -> 08:39.840] mae dim logig
[08:39.840 -> 08:40.520] yn cymryd cymorth
[08:40.520 -> 08:41.160] y bydd rhywun
[08:41.160 -> 08:43.080] sydd â ddiddorol busnes
[08:43.080 -> 08:44.080] yn y gweithiau eang
[08:44.080 -> 08:45.760] y maen nhw'n eu penderfynu o'r ystafell ymwneud â'r ysgol, yn ddifrifio'r gallu ar y sw i rywun sydd gan fynediad busnes yn y gynulliadau a'r eit hynny o'r ymdrechion,
[08:45.760 -> 08:49.560] mae'r galluoedd yn ddifrifio ar y swydd gwneud.
[08:49.560 -> 08:51.560] Ac rydyn ni wedi sôn am Gareth Southgate,
[08:51.560 -> 08:52.400] sydd wedi dweud yn ymdrech.
[08:52.400 -> 08:53.600] Rydyn ni wedi sôn am Hector Beharin,
[08:53.600 -> 08:54.440] sydd wedi dweud yn ymdrech.
[08:54.440 -> 08:55.600] Rydyn ni wedi sôn am Daniel Sturridge,
[08:55.600 -> 08:56.440] sydd wedi dweud yn ymdrech.
[08:56.440 -> 08:58.040] Rydyn ni wedi clywed o Tyra Mings
[08:58.040 -> 08:59.040] yn dweud yr un peth.
[09:01.920 -> 09:03.920] Ydych chi'n bwysig am y ffaith
[09:03.920 -> 09:05.400] y bydd y sgwrs yn newid? Oherwydd mae'n rhaid i mi deimfaith bod y sgwrs yn newid?
[09:05.400 -> 09:07.000] Oherwydd mae'n rhaid i mi deimlo
[09:07.000 -> 09:09.120] fel bod y sgwrs o fewn chwaraewr yn newid.
[09:09.120 -> 09:10.400] Rwy'n credu yng nghreiniau gweithredu nawr,
[09:10.400 -> 09:11.840] mae'r sgwrs yn wahanol.
[09:11.840 -> 09:13.400] Rwy'n credu y bydd chwaraewr yn siarad yn agos
[09:13.400 -> 09:15.200] ac yn ddiogel am y pethau y maen nhw'n ei wneud.
[09:15.200 -> 09:16.760] Rwy'n credu efallai yw'n ymhell i'r gêm.
[09:16.760 -> 09:18.120] Mae'r bobl ar y chyfran yn edrych
[09:18.120 -> 09:20.600] ac nid yw wedi newid eu meddwl.
[09:20.600 -> 09:21.560] Iawn, yn fawr iawn.
[09:21.560 -> 09:24.320] Rwy'n cofio, yn ôl blynedd yn ôl yma,
[09:24.320 -> 09:25.000] yn ymgynghorydd, a oedd yn siarad amwy'n cofio, ym mhlynedd yn ôl yma,
[09:25.000 -> 09:28.000] roedd yn siarad am sut y byddai pobl yn ymdrechu
[09:28.000 -> 09:30.000] â'r unig ffotbolaeth gyn-dŵr,
[09:30.000 -> 09:32.000] y unig ffotbolaeth sy'n dod allan.
[09:32.000 -> 09:34.000] Ac roedd yn llawer o bobl, wrth gwrs,
[09:34.000 -> 09:36.000] yn ymdrechu, a dweud, oh, byddwn i ddim yn broblem gyda hynny,
[09:36.000 -> 09:38.000] byddwn i'n hollol iawn.
[09:38.000 -> 09:40.000] Ond rwy'n meddwl sut y byddai'r unig ffotbolaeth hynny yn ymdrechu
[09:40.000 -> 09:42.000] pan fyddant ar y gwrdd, ac mae'r unig ffotbolaeth hynny
[09:42.000 -> 10:05.840] yn cyfrifio'r golwg ar gyfer eu tîm. Byddai'nw yn ychydig i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i ddod o'r ffordd i d rhan o'r rhan fwyaf o bobl, ond yn ymdrechion, wrth gwrs, pan fyddant yn cymryd eu cymdeithas ar ein tîm neu'n ein wlad,
[10:05.840 -> 10:08.480] nid y gallwn ni'n cymryd y peth yn yr un lefel.
[10:08.480 -> 10:10.320] Dwi'n meddwl mai'n siwr iawn o gwrs,
[10:10.320 -> 10:11.640] ac rwy'n mor ddim yn ddiolchgar
[10:11.640 -> 10:13.480] fod yn newid stereotypaethau pobl yn eithaf lawr,
[10:13.480 -> 10:15.560] efallai dim ond yn cael sgwrs o gwrs fel hyn.
[10:15.560 -> 10:16.680] Diolch yn fawr, Damien.
[10:16.680 -> 10:17.520] Diolch, Jake.
[10:17.520 -> 10:18.640] Diolch i chi i gyd ar y cwrs
[10:18.640 -> 10:19.760] o'r bwysigrwydd hon.
[10:19.760 -> 10:21.120] Dwi'n gobeithio'n gweld y sgwrs llaw
[10:21.120 -> 10:23.920] gyda Tyrone Mings a phlaenoriaethau eraill o ffytbolwyr
