Notes

WELCOME BACK FROM F1 SUMMER BREAK! It is time for the Italian Grand Prix to end the long summer shutdown because there is no such thing as the Dutch Grand Prix, right? The Dutch Grand Prix didn’t happen?? That's at least what Briana and Nicole are telling themselves on the new episode of Grid Walk to cope with the far from ideal race weekend.

Formula 1 news never waits! Briana and Nicole come together for some last minute recording to discuss the latest breaking F1 news! The FIA has released a technical directive regarding the flexibility of wings on F1 cars. The FIA has developed this technical directive after observing the performance of certain F1 teams. What does this mean for the development of the F1 teams for the rest of the season?

Raise your hand if you’ve ever been personally victimized by Formula 1! Briana and Nicole hold a small venting session for their latest woes as an F1 fan. Was the Dutch Grand Prix a personal attack? Will Scuderia AlphaTauri driver Daniel Ricciardo make a recovery before the end of the 2023 F1 season? Will Scuderia Ferrari figure out how to do a pitstop?

Inspired by F1’s hysterical video series “Grill the Grid,” Briana and Nicole play “Grill the Grid Walk Host!” Nicole has to try and put all of the F1 drivers in age order and it is a lot harder than it sounds! Briana is put to the test with F1 trivia that even the F1 drivers struggled to answer! Can Briana name 2 F1 drivers for each prompt Nicole throws at her: “Won A Race for Mclaren F1 Team,” “Won The Championship In A Ferrari,” “Raced For Two Different F1 Teams In The Same Season,’ and more!

Formula 1 is headed to Monza this race week for the Italian Grand Prix! Briana and Nicole’s Italian Grand Prix preview gives you all the must have information. What tire compounds is Pirelli recommending for the Italian Grand Prix? How does the circuit at Monza compare to Zandvoort? The Grid Walk competition to avoid an ice bath continues with Briana and Nicole’s Italian Grand Prix Predictions! Summary

- The podcast hosts, Briana L. Klein and Nicole Katz, begin the episode by discussing the Kelsey Brothers and their impact on football.

- They then transition to Formula One (F1) and express their excitement for the upcoming Italian Grand Prix, which marks the return of F1 after the summer break.

- They acknowledge that there have been significant developments in the F1 world during the break, including Daniel Ricciardo's hand injury and Lewis Hamilton's impressive pace.

- The hosts discuss a technical directive issued by the FIA, which aims to address a loophole that some teams have been exploiting with their front wings. They highlight the complexity of the issue and its potential impact on the upcoming race.

- They engage in a segment called "Raise Your Hand if You Were Personally Victimized," where they list various incidents and controversies from the recent Dutch Grand Prix and invite listeners to relate their own experiences.

- The hosts then play a game called "Grill the Gridwalk Host," where they challenge each other to name two drivers that fit specific criteria within a 90-second time limit. They encounter some challenging prompts and have a few humorous moments during the game.

* They also mention drivers who have won a championship but not the most races in that season, such as Kimi Raikkonen, Sebastian Vettel, Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton, Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, Nelson Piquet, Graham Hill, Phil Hill, Emerson Fittipaldi, and Fangio.
* Lastly, they discuss drivers who were teammates with Michael Schumacher, including Max Verstappen, Nico Rosberg, and Rubens Barrichello.

**Three Things to Know About the Italian GP**

* The Italian GP will use the alternate tire allocation, where drivers use hards in Q1, mediums in Q2, and softs in Q3. This is to reduce the number of tires used in free practice, which can lead to less competitive uncertainty.
* Pirelli has brought a step softer tire to the race, which should hopefully lead to more tire degradation and exciting racing.
* The Italian GP is the lowest downforce race of the season, with a track that is mostly straights. This means that teams with low drag and great power unit performance should perform well.

**Predictions for the Italian GP**

* Nicole predicts that Lewis Hamilton will finish P2, Charles Leclerc will finish P3, and Sergio Perez will finish P4.
* Briana predicts that Max Verstappen will finish P1, George Russell will finish P2, and Carlos Sainz will finish P3.

**Grill the Grid: Ranking Drivers from Youngest to Oldest**

* Nicole is given the challenge of ranking the 19 F1 drivers from youngest to oldest.
* She struggles with the task and makes several mistakes, but she eventually gets it mostly correct.
* The best drivers at ranking the drivers were Lance Stroll, Lando Norris, and George Russell, who all got 12 out of 19 points.

**Predictions for the Rest of the Season**

* Briana and Nicole discuss their predictions for the rest of the season, including who they think will win the championship and which teams will perform well.
* They also talk about the possibility of an ice bath for the loser of their predictions at the end of the season.

**Predictions for the Mexican Grand Prix:**

- Briana and Nicole make their predictions for the top three finishers and the driver who will finish last (excluding DNFs) in the Mexican Grand Prix.

- Briana predicts Lewis Hamilton for P3, Sergio Perez for P2, and Charles Leclerc for P1.

- Nicole predicts Ferrari to score the most points among non-Red Bull teams, with Charles Leclerc in P2 but expresses uncertainty about both Ferrari drivers performing well in the same race.

- Briana maintains her prediction of Alex Albon finishing in P10, while Nicole predicts Logan Sargent to secure his first points by finishing in P10.

- Both hosts agree that Aston Martin and Mercedes might struggle at this track due to their Mercedes power units.

- K-Magnussen is chosen as the driver predicted to finish last, with Nicole expressing her disappointment in Liam Lawson's performance and using it as a way to cope with her emotions regarding Daniel Ricciardo's uncertain future in Formula One.

**Daniel Ricciardo's Situation:**

- The hosts discuss the possibility of Daniel Ricciardo losing his seat at McLaren and express concern about his future in the sport.

- Briana mentions that if Ricciardo were to lose his seat, it would be a repeat of the situation at the end of the previous season.

- Nicole shares her anxiety about the situation and draws parallels to the waiting period experienced during the previous season.

**Gridwalk Notes:**

- The hosts share interesting news and updates from the world of Formula One, including:

- Taylor Swift's concert at the Mexican Grand Prix venue, effectively selling out the event four times.

- Aston Martin running a rookie driver during FP1 at the upcoming race.

- A new Lewis Hamilton Funko Pop expected to be released in December.

- Max Verstappen receiving a replacement for his broken Hungarian GP trophy.

- Reddit's partnership with Alpine, featuring the Reddit logo on the team's car.

- Haas confirming that both of their drivers will continue with the team in 2024.

- McLaren introducing a new rear wing concept aimed at reducing drag.

- Ferrari discussing their brand-new car concept for 2024.

- Williams taking full responsibility for Logan Sargent's crash due to a car malfunction.

- AlphaTauri announcing Liam Lawson's continued driving until Daniel Ricciardo's return, but not as a permanent replacement.

- Alfa Romeo's graffiti-themed race suits, garage names, and overall livery.

**Conclusion:**

The podcast concludes with the hosts expressing their gratitude to their listeners, encouraging them to follow, rate, and review the podcast. They invite listeners to join their daily grid walks on various social media platforms and look forward to the next episode, where they will continue to discuss Formula One and engage with their audience.

[00:00.000 -> 00:04.280] I can't say the word news without thinking about the Kelsey Brothers podcast
[00:09.320 -> 00:13.920] Yeah, I just yeah, it's ingrained in my brain anytime I hear the word news
[00:13.920 -> 00:21.080] It's like it's like whenever you hear someone go red Robin like just go yum. Like I don't know why
[00:22.680 -> 00:24.480] Because good marketing
[00:24.480 -> 00:30.000] Do you think you are are for like the brand of podcast host chaos.
[00:30.000 -> 00:32.720] So I'm not saying their brand of chaos outside of the podcast.
[00:32.720 -> 00:37.360] Do you think you are the Jason or Travis Kelsey in our duo?
[00:37.360 -> 00:41.680] Because I don't, I don't know.
[00:41.680 -> 00:58.000] I am the like a Jason that wants to be a Travis. Like, that's that, I think. I don't know. I just, I think I want to say Travis Kelsey so bad, but I also just think I love him. I mean, I love both of them, but like, in such different ways.
[00:58.000 -> 00:59.000] Yeah.
[00:59.000 -> 01:05.220] Yeah, but I think I would want to be Travis, but I don't think I don't have enough swag to
[01:05.220 -> 01:06.220] be Travis.
[01:06.220 -> 01:11.180] No, but I think in real life you are the Travis and I am the Jason Kelsey.
[01:11.180 -> 01:14.820] But I'm such more of a dad than you are.
[01:14.820 -> 01:19.700] Yeah, I guess but you're also much more outgoing than I am.
[01:19.700 -> 01:25.760] So like, I think you would be the jokester of the group far before me.
[01:33.040 -> 01:36.160] That, you know, I do tend to joke. I mean, Jason Kelsey, like, he's not necessarily the quietest dude in the room. Oh, no, neither of them.
[01:36.160 -> 01:40.240] It's just whenever he's thrown with Travis, it's suddenly like he's the, you know,
[01:41.360 -> 01:45.900] is this an F1 podcast? We're suddenly talking about the Kelsey brothers again.
[01:46.200 -> 01:49.300] Everyone needs to get used to us talking about the Kelsey brothers
[01:49.300 -> 01:52.900] and football-ogys and things because we are 10 days as of recording
[01:52.900 -> 01:54.800] this from the start of football season.
[01:55.000 -> 01:57.600] My brain is just a mesh of Kelly Green.
[01:58.800 -> 02:00.200] All right, welcome back from summer break.
[02:00.200 -> 02:02.100] I'm so excited for F1 to return.
[02:02.100 -> 02:04.500] It's been a really long time since we got to watch an F1 race
[02:04.500 -> 02:05.400] and I'm really hyped
[02:05.400 -> 02:08.520] to watch the first race back this weekend, the Italian GP.
[02:08.520 -> 02:09.520] How are you feeling?
[02:09.520 -> 02:14.640] Yes, of course, the first race back after the F1 summer break, and definitely not the
[02:14.640 -> 02:19.760] second race back after F1 summer break, and completely the first, and nothing else happened
[02:19.760 -> 02:21.080] this past weekend.
[02:21.080 -> 02:23.360] It was still F1 summer break.
[02:23.360 -> 02:24.360] It's been a month.
[02:24.360 -> 02:29.720] Like, people were kind of tuned out, we have no idea if Max Verstappen is
[02:29.720 -> 02:35.520] going to tie Sebastian Vettel's record this weekend. There's a lot on the line, surprisingly.
[02:35.520 -> 02:54.000] Daniel Ricciardo is back on the grid and everything is absolutely fine with all of his appendages. If only, right? I don't know what you're talking about. That's all true statements
[02:54.000 -> 03:00.000] that we just opened the podcast with. So, you know, today on Gridwalk Week, we are going
[03:00.000 -> 03:04.960] to discuss Daniel Ricardo's injury. We're going to discuss Lewis Hamilton's pace and
[03:04.960 -> 03:05.160] all things in the F1 universe that we feel personally victimized by since we all last to discuss Daniel Ricciardo's injury, we're going to discuss Lewis Hamilton's pace, and
[03:05.160 -> 03:09.320] all things in the F1 universe that we feel personally victimized by since we all last
[03:09.320 -> 03:11.120] spoke about Formula 1.
[03:11.120 -> 03:14.200] And would you like some fries with that?
[03:14.200 -> 03:20.120] Because it seems like the Ferrari team is serving them up via drive-thru this weekend.
[03:20.120 -> 03:24.400] But I guess we'll have to do more than just review the Ferrari-McDonald's-themed team
[03:24.400 -> 03:26.840] kits and special livery this weekend.
[03:26.840 -> 03:28.160] We're gonna give you three things to know
[03:28.160 -> 03:30.240] before the race week and predict the results
[03:30.240 -> 03:31.780] of the Italian Grand Prix.
[03:31.780 -> 03:34.720] Remember, a trip to the ice bath is on the line
[03:34.720 -> 03:39.040] for our prediction loser for the rest of the season.
[03:39.040 -> 03:42.280] Lastly, Nicole and I are gonna put each other to the test
[03:42.280 -> 03:44.840] with different grill-the-grid challenges
[03:44.840 -> 03:45.040] that the
[03:45.040 -> 03:51.280] drivers did over the last few weeks. That wraps up the Formation Lab for episode 32 of Gridwalk,
[03:51.280 -> 03:55.520] a weekly Formula One podcast that believes there are fascinating stories to discuss across the
[03:55.520 -> 03:59.760] entire F1 grid. Don't forget to like and subscribe if you're watching on YouTube,
[03:59.760 -> 04:03.040] follow, turn on auto-downloads, and leave us a review if you're listening on any auto...
[04:04.000 -> 04:07.380] if you're listening on any audio platform. See, summer break! What are you
[04:07.380 -> 04:12.440] talking about? I'm just checked out! All these things really help support the
[04:12.440 -> 04:16.200] show and introduce Gridwalk to more people.
[04:16.200 -> 04:18.200] On to Monza!
[04:18.200 -> 04:20.200] Nothing happened last week! Woo!
[04:20.200 -> 04:22.200] Nothing happened last week and nothing at all!
[04:22.200 -> 04:29.100] Cold ground on our lined up one on the gest lights out, and away we go to this week's
[04:29.100 -> 04:30.100] Grimlock.
[04:30.100 -> 04:36.740] Okay, but the reason that we look different than the rest of this podcast is because we
[04:36.740 -> 04:42.300] finished recording the podcast and then they dropped pretty substantial news, so we feel
[04:42.300 -> 04:57.000] like we can't put out the podcast that you're now listening to without talking about the fact that the FIA released a new technical directive that is going to make something that some teams are doing illegal.
[04:57.000 -> 05:09.600] And it's probably what everyone's going to be talking about for the next weekend, so it felt silly to put out an Italian GP preview without the biggest news. So here we are! How'd you take the news today?
[05:09.600 -> 05:15.840] Acknowledging the news, I have read so much of the news so many times and you
[05:15.840 -> 05:19.840] I would feel like it wasn't English. Like I felt like I was in a Google Translate
[05:19.840 -> 05:27.600] corner where I was trying to read something and understand what it's saying and I'm like
[05:27.600 -> 05:34.720] nope I need someone to try I need like a no fear Shakespeare of this like
[05:34.720 -> 05:41.560] technical direction. Well here's what I can confidently say if you're new to
[05:41.560 -> 05:48.480] F1 or you're just new to paying attention to the technical space the F FIA can put out technical directives, and it's exactly what it sounds like.
[05:48.480 -> 05:55.440] It's directing the teams and further clarifying, essentially, what they can do technically.
[05:55.440 -> 06:00.640] So the FIA has basically identified something at least one team is doing that they're like,
[06:00.640 -> 06:06.100] I get how you have found that loophole, we are now going to shut that loophole.
[06:06.100 -> 06:09.460] So what they can technically do technically.
[06:09.460 -> 06:13.840] Uh-huh, a directive on what they can technically do.
[06:15.760 -> 06:20.760] Now, the discussion of what is the technical loophole
[06:20.940 -> 06:23.000] that is actually being closed
[06:23.000 -> 06:26.240] is what I have found very confusing. All I
[06:26.240 -> 06:30.160] know is that, like here's what I can confidently say, that there are some
[06:30.160 -> 06:35.680] teams on the grid where their front wing is moving, you're going to hear the word
[06:35.680 -> 06:41.320] flexing a lot, but essentially moving in ways that the FIA doesn't want to allow
[06:41.320 -> 06:48.800] it to move, and not only is it moving in ways, but the way the FIA tests for movement,
[06:49.240 -> 06:55.240] these teams have found a way to skirt that text that test, not text skirt, that
[06:55.240 -> 07:00.120] test. So the test happens on the front wing and the FIA goes, you passed.
[07:00.240 -> 07:03.200] And then all of a sudden the car's driving and it's flexing.
[07:04.880 -> 07:10.280] Um, and some, I actually, something that's really interesting, and we don't always compliment the FIA a ton on
[07:10.280 -> 07:16.200] this podcast, so before I flame them separately for this, I will compliment them that they've
[07:16.200 -> 07:20.880] changed their processes this year, where normally they just were doing their tests, so now they're
[07:20.880 -> 07:26.400] actually looking at onboard cameras, and they have cameras set up in all these different angles for the teams,
[07:26.400 -> 07:30.400] because they had an assumption that things were going on,
[07:30.400 -> 07:33.200] that we're passing their tests when they shouldn't be,
[07:33.200 -> 07:36.600] and they implemented and used technology to find it.
[07:36.600 -> 07:38.400] So I would like to... that's great!
[07:38.400 -> 07:41.100] I like the fact that they're actually doing that.
[07:41.100 -> 07:41.600] Yeah!
[07:41.600 -> 07:44.400] Who would have thought that a governing body
[07:44.400 -> 07:46.240] has ways to
[07:46.240 -> 07:52.600] enforce direction and regulation and things. It's a brand new
[07:52.600 -> 07:56.640] concept. Meanwhile, my favorite thing about F1 continues to be
[07:56.640 -> 08:01.280] the team's committed to finding every single possible loophole
[08:01.480 -> 08:08.640] in any single possible way possible to be like, well, we're technically
[08:08.640 -> 08:10.640] not breaking any rules.
[08:10.640 -> 08:12.640] And they were!
[08:12.640 -> 08:17.720] I mean, this is, like, there's a lot of things the FIA does where I constantly talk about
[08:17.720 -> 08:20.460] how that's not their job, just stay out of it.
[08:20.460 -> 08:22.800] You know what's actually their job?
[08:22.800 -> 08:28.080] Finding out when teams are exploiting loopholes in the regulation and closing them using technical directives
[08:28.080 -> 08:31.960] So thank you to the FIA for doing their job here
[08:32.320 -> 08:36.480] I do find this interesting because I think we I don't know if we actually talked about it on the pod
[08:36.480 -> 08:41.520] but it's been heavily rumored that Aston Martin has slid back because they
[08:41.960 -> 08:46.000] had front wings that were illegal and basically the FIA said no more.
[08:46.000 -> 08:50.000] And then this technical directive that isn't going to come into play this weekend,
[08:50.000 -> 08:56.000] but is going to be officially, like, all the teams need to comply by this technical directive by Singapore.
[08:56.000 -> 09:02.000] Which is the following race, but there's a week break. Words are hard.
[09:02.000 -> 09:08.260] But apparently it's not just Aston Martin. It also might
[09:08.260 -> 09:15.000] be every team on the grid that's doing this. I've seen absolutely every rumor, except people
[09:15.000 -> 09:18.240] seem pretty confident that Red Bull is not doing this.
[09:18.240 -> 09:26.320] They just don't have to. But we did talk about this a little bit. There was some questions with Mike Crack not
[09:26.320 -> 09:36.320] denying and not confirming that certain changes need to be made. But yeah, it'll be interesting
[09:36.320 -> 09:42.480] to see if suddenly there's a big shift in what we've... Not that there's come to be a norm in
[09:42.480 -> 09:45.700] the grid right now besides Red Bull Red Bull
[09:51.100 -> 09:51.460] Yeah, besides Red Bull in terms of this like whatever new technical direction
[09:53.960 -> 09:54.460] So if I also with this whole
[10:00.900 -> 10:04.880] New direction teams need to be submitting drawings of their front wings and where it's attached And that the the the the so is this teams can now make changes
[10:02.200 -> 10:06.800] where it's attached and da da da da da. So is this teams can now make changes before submitting that?
[10:06.800 -> 10:12.400] Or is it like submit drawings of your current vehicle and get a timeout and a no-no?
[10:12.400 -> 10:20.000] Like, I'm pretty sure the FIA is fully aware of which teams are currently doing this.
[10:20.000 -> 10:25.000] So teams are now...
[10:25.000 -> 10:31.500] Words are so hard. I find this particular technical directive I have found technically very challenging to understand.
[10:31.500 -> 10:33.500] So I'm tripping up on my words.
[10:33.500 -> 10:39.000] But essentially because the front wings are flexing,
[10:39.000 -> 10:48.800] but they're not being caught by the tests that the FIA do to measure flexing, that they are making the team submit
[10:48.800 -> 10:55.280] like, not just not drawings, like they're CFD files, essentially, like they're so I
[10:55.280 -> 10:56.280] know what you mean.
[10:56.280 -> 11:01.480] I feel like a silly word when saying when reading and saying it out loud.
[11:01.480 -> 11:02.480] They're blueprints.
[11:02.480 -> 11:03.480] Yeah.
[11:03.480 -> 11:04.480] Yeah.
[11:04.480 -> 11:06.680] And I believe if they wanted to make an up so they're going- They're blueprints. Yeah. Yeah, and I believe if they wanted to make an up,
[11:06.680 -> 11:08.680] so they're going to submit the blueprints
[11:08.680 -> 11:10.960] of what the teams believe to be legal
[11:10.960 -> 11:13.360] within the technical directive.
[11:13.360 -> 11:14.880] So they're basically saying like,
[11:14.880 -> 11:16.920] hey, come to the Singapore GP
[11:16.920 -> 11:19.000] with one that doesn't break this rule
[11:19.000 -> 11:21.680] and you're going to have to submit your blueprint file
[11:21.680 -> 11:24.160] for your front wings for us to check.
[11:24.160 -> 11:28.640] If you, in the future, want to update your front wing, which we are getting to the end of the season,
[11:28.640 -> 11:32.920] like who knows if anyone's going to bring new front wings, but now they might have to.
[11:32.920 -> 11:39.680] So whatever. They'll probably just have to submit their CFD again. I keep saying CFD,
[11:39.680 -> 11:47.360] but it's not a CFD, they're blueprint. Got it, yes, follow. Um, yeah, I, the one thing I will
[11:47.360 -> 11:57.560] say about this is I'm disappointed from a competitive standpoint. If, if Red Bull really
[11:57.560 -> 12:02.040] is the only team that's not doing this, like, could we just wait till the end of the season
[12:02.040 -> 12:07.940] and just give another team the opportunity to maybe win a race in some way?
[12:07.940 -> 12:08.940] Like really?
[12:08.940 -> 12:13.720] Because now, like, whatever, teams don't get like an additional budget in the cost cap
[12:13.720 -> 12:19.740] because they have to fix their front wings due to, like, them being illegal.
[12:19.740 -> 12:23.180] So now, like, development money that could have went to another parts for an upgrade
[12:23.180 -> 12:26.140] that maybe could have managed for us to manage to see one
[12:26.140 -> 12:28.720] Team maybe catch up to Red Bull and win one race
[12:28.720 -> 12:33.340] so they don't win every race of the season now that money needs to go to fixing a front wing and
[12:34.880 -> 12:39.800] Doesn't have to do it. So which is all speculative right, right, right
[12:39.800 -> 12:43.940] I'm like, I have no idea what teams are doing it. I just the most
[12:49.000 -> 12:53.000] I have no idea what teams are doing it. I just, the most popular thing I am seeing online from relatively reputable sources is that they don't think Red Bull is one of those teams that has to deal with it.
[12:53.000 -> 12:59.000] But who the F knows? And guess who's not going to tell us? F1 or the FIA.
[12:59.000 -> 13:10.660] And also, if all of a sudden at Singapore, like a certain team drops back or something, we won't know if that's because of this, because the non-Red Bull grid to your earlier point
[13:10.660 -> 13:12.540] has been so up or down.
[13:12.540 -> 13:17.180] And we're at the end of the season, like who knows how this is going to affect anything,
[13:17.180 -> 13:18.180] if at all?
[13:18.180 -> 13:23.020] Like, maybe the most effective is going to be the Alfa Romeo, but we'll never know because
[13:23.020 -> 13:25.440] they're just irrelevant to everything.
[13:26.080 -> 13:32.720] Oh, and the other piece of incredible important news, Alfa Romeo has its special livery this
[13:32.720 -> 13:37.840] weekend, so we also get to talk about that. But yes, just as big of news.
[13:38.800 -> 13:42.240] Which I actually really like their livery. I like the Italian flag. I think it's better
[13:42.240 -> 13:50.300] than what they did last year. Yes, I definitely agree with you and I personally like it a little bit more than Ferrari's yellow,
[13:50.300 -> 13:54.500] but that's my personal vendetta against this and that's not what all of this news is about.
[13:54.500 -> 14:01.000] It definitely will be interesting. Who knows what we'll see and to your point,
[14:01.000 -> 14:05.000] if this is like a sudden drop-off, who knows what that could actually be from?
[14:05.000 -> 14:06.000] You know?
[14:06.000 -> 14:09.000] F1. It's a circus.
[14:09.000 -> 14:12.000] When you're watching F1 this week, because this is now looming
[14:12.000 -> 14:16.000] and it's now public, just expect like every team principal,
[14:16.000 -> 14:20.000] every driver, like every adjacent person to an F1 team
[14:20.000 -> 14:23.000] that's interviewed this weekend will be asked about this technical directive
[14:23.000 -> 14:28.680] and if it's going to affect their team. So it's gonna be interesting. This will likely be
[14:28.680 -> 14:35.760] the story of the weekend when it comes to like talking. Unless more news comes. But
[14:35.760 -> 14:39.820] also happy something we didn't say on the pod that I'll sneak in now happy one year
[14:39.820 -> 14:45.240] anniversary to the greatest photo of Carlos Sainz ever taken. And black fireproofs.
[14:45.240 -> 14:47.760] That's really their miss this year?
[14:47.760 -> 14:50.660] I don't, like last year they were like bananas
[14:50.660 -> 14:53.200] and I was totally fine with it because of black fireproofs.
[14:53.200 -> 14:55.040] This year they're McDonald's employees
[14:55.040 -> 14:56.000] and I'm less fine with it
[14:56.000 -> 14:58.040] because they're not black fireproofs.
[14:58.040 -> 15:01.760] Yeah, I'd allowed the Minion race suits back
[15:01.760 -> 15:04.320] if it meant that they were black fireproofs back,
[15:04.320 -> 15:11.000] but yes, thank you to the universe for that photo of Carlos Sainz and his hair.
[15:11.000 -> 15:17.000] Again, I just don't understand how it stays that way. I don't know.
[15:17.000 -> 15:23.000] I... confusion. I need a technical directive about Carlos Sainz's hair routine.
[15:24.000 -> 15:26.440] Raise your hand if you were personally victimized
[15:26.440 -> 15:28.100] by the Dutch GP.
[15:28.100 -> 15:31.040] Raises all of my hands.
[15:31.040 -> 15:34.340] Raise your hand if you were personally victimized
[15:34.340 -> 15:36.300] by Ferrari pit stops.
[15:36.300 -> 15:38.540] Yes, yes.
[15:38.540 -> 15:40.840] Raise your hand if you were personally victimized
[15:40.840 -> 15:43.640] by Mercedes' inability to pit at the right time
[15:43.640 -> 15:48.800] for wet and inter-tires?
[15:48.800 -> 15:54.480] Raise your hand if you were personally victimized by Max undercutting Checo at the Dutch Grand
[15:54.480 -> 15:55.480] Prix.
[15:55.480 -> 15:58.500] Raise your hand if you were personally victimized by every single person that tried to convince
[15:58.500 -> 16:07.440] you that it was a good thing that Red Bull made it easy on Max by undercutting Checo. What? Like, does that even count?
[16:07.440 -> 16:14.160] Raise your hand if you were personally victimized by George Russell's
[16:14.160 -> 16:17.120] I WAS PREDICTED TO BE ON THE PODIUM!
[16:17.120 -> 16:22.240] Every week. George Russell just has to give us an annoying radio every week.
[16:22.240 -> 16:31.280] Raise your hand if you were personally victimized by how awkward it was that they had the singer of the Deaf GP for the podium turning facing the podium.
[16:35.520 -> 16:45.320] Raise your hand if you were personally victimized by Daniel Riccardo breaking his hand and having to get surgery. Ahh!
[16:45.320 -> 16:51.160] Raise your hand if you were personally victimized by having to wait for Nicole to text you that
[16:51.160 -> 16:52.160] she was okay.
[16:52.160 -> 16:53.160] That might just be me.
[16:53.160 -> 16:54.840] I still haven't done it yet.
[16:54.840 -> 17:01.400] I still am not okay.
[17:01.400 -> 17:06.180] So going off that, raise your hand if you feel personally victimized that Alfa Tauri
[17:06.180 -> 17:10.380] has had four drivers this season while they've had three points.
[17:10.380 -> 17:18.220] Raise your hand if you feel personally victimized by the fact that Ferrari can't make good merch
[17:18.220 -> 17:22.700] and is dressing their team up like McDonald's employees this weekend.
[17:22.700 -> 17:25.680] Can I have fries with that and a McFlurry?
[17:25.680 -> 17:28.600] Do not tell me the ice cream machine is broken.
[17:28.600 -> 17:36.560] Raise your hand if you were personally victimized by having to listen to the Dutch Grand Prix
[17:36.560 -> 17:37.760] twice this weekend.
[17:37.760 -> 17:38.760] It's hard enough as it is.
[17:38.760 -> 17:45.600] Raise your hand if you were personally victimized by having to hear even more race commentary
[17:45.600 -> 17:49.560] through rain delays and rain delays and rain delays.
[17:49.560 -> 17:56.760] Raise your hand if you were personally victimized by all of the stats about the last time a
[17:56.760 -> 18:01.080] US driver scored points in F1.
[18:01.080 -> 18:08.000] Raise your hand if you were personally victimized by all of the internet memes about Logan Sargent not knowing what a kilometer is.
[18:09.500 -> 18:11.000] It's not funny anymore!
[18:11.000 -> 18:15.000] I'm over it! I mean, I still don't know, but I don't care!
[18:17.000 -> 18:21.500] Raise your hand if you were personally victimized by folding chairs.
[18:22.500 -> 18:25.240] So many folding chairs. So many folding chairs.
[18:27.840 -> 18:29.840] Raise your hand if you're personally victimized
[18:29.840 -> 18:31.720] by the fact that it's already predicting
[18:31.720 -> 18:33.280] to rain on Saturday.
[18:35.720 -> 18:37.520] I can't take it.
[18:37.520 -> 18:40.800] Raise your hand if you are personally victimized
[18:40.800 -> 18:44.400] by everyone complaining about the lack of use of wet tires.
[18:45.000 -> 18:54.000] by everyone complaining about the lack of use of wet tires. Raise your hand if you just feel personally victimized by the sport of Formula One.
[18:54.000 -> 18:59.000] Raise your hand if you were personally victimized by the color orange.
[18:59.000 -> 19:02.000] Oh my gosh!
[19:02.000 -> 19:06.400] Raise your hand if you were personally victimized by the Mercedes admin
[19:06.400 -> 19:10.400] thinking it was a good idea to tweet out how great the Orange Army is.
[19:10.400 -> 19:14.400] I can't raise my hand up.
[19:14.400 -> 19:15.400] Double down.
[19:15.400 -> 19:21.800] I'm so glad the Dutch GP is over.
[19:21.800 -> 19:26.320] Let us know what you feel personally victimized by in the comments.
[19:26.320 -> 19:31.820] Regina George is part of the Orange Army.
[19:31.820 -> 19:38.360] So this is a really fun edition of Grill the Gridwalk Host, where we're taking Grill the
[19:38.360 -> 19:42.320] Grid from the F1 YouTube segment and doing our own little spin on it and having a little
[19:42.320 -> 19:48.240] bit of fun quizzing each other about some lovely F1 trivia and these are some of my
[19:48.240 -> 19:54.280] favorite pieces of content that F1 pulls out so or creates and I think it's just
[19:54.280 -> 20:01.400] a lot of fun and I love some trivia. So I am subjecting Brianna today to the
[20:01.400 -> 20:05.920] name two drivers challenge that the drivers have done recently. So I
[20:05.920 -> 20:11.280] have a bunch of prompts where she will have to name two drivers that apply to
[20:11.280 -> 20:16.600] those prompts but she only has 90 seconds to get through as many of them
[20:16.600 -> 20:23.840] as she can. I also want to preface that a lot of the drivers had to pass so if
[20:23.840 -> 20:26.580] they did not know the answer to one of these prompts,
[20:26.580 -> 20:29.120] they said, skip, pass, and then went directly
[20:29.120 -> 20:31.420] to the next one, because again, 90 seconds,
[20:31.420 -> 20:32.740] not a lot of time.
[20:32.740 -> 20:35.540] And a lot of them couldn't really answer them.
[20:35.540 -> 20:38.900] It's time and pressure, it's a lot.
[20:38.900 -> 20:41.220] So, and a lot of these are pretty difficult.
[20:41.220 -> 20:43.060] Yeah, the last time we played this game,
[20:43.060 -> 20:47.080] it was when the drivers did the five second challenge, and then you had me go through the five-second
[20:47.080 -> 20:52.440] challenge. I was shocked at how well I did. This is likely to not go that way.
[20:52.440 -> 20:57.540] But I think it's also important to note that I haven't watched the video at all.
[20:57.540 -> 21:02.440] So we don't, because we like to play grill the gridwalk host, we don't watch
[21:02.440 -> 21:11.120] the grill the grid until the other person gives them approval that we're allowed to um but that leads me to my one question are you giving me all
[21:11.120 -> 21:18.240] questions that they got or are you sprinkling in some of your own at any point so there are so many
[21:18.240 -> 21:26.240] from the video that i did not need to create my own okay Okay, that's what I thought, but I just...
[21:26.240 -> 21:27.760] I wanted to know who to be mad at.
[21:27.760 -> 21:30.560] The F1 content creators or you?
[21:30.560 -> 21:32.560] As soon as I started watching this video,
[21:32.560 -> 21:34.000] when they got to the second topic,
[21:34.000 -> 21:36.800] I thought, oh, I'm gonna come up with some great ones.
[21:36.800 -> 21:40.800] And as I kept going, it's not my lack of faith in you.
[21:40.800 -> 21:44.160] It's just, wow, I got a really solid list here
[21:44.160 -> 21:45.480] that I think will be pretty
[21:45.480 -> 21:49.600] difficult. So I don't even think we would get to my creative option. So we'll just have
[21:49.600 -> 21:52.800] to come back to that at a later time in the podcast.
[21:52.800 -> 21:55.720] All right, I'm ready.
[21:55.720 -> 21:57.200] Okay. So.
[21:57.200 -> 21:59.200] I'm too competitive.
[21:59.200 -> 22:03.800] Okay. And I promise you we're already going to definitely do better than some of the drivers.
[22:03.800 -> 22:05.860] I just believe in you that way.
[22:05.860 -> 22:08.460] So I have a list of every prompt that they went through.
[22:08.460 -> 22:10.380] I don't know if we'll get through all of them.
[22:10.380 -> 22:12.360] Brianna only has 90 seconds.
[22:12.360 -> 22:15.420] Do you want like a 15 second warning?
[22:15.420 -> 22:17.980] Do you want like 10 second warning left?
[22:17.980 -> 22:18.980] Just we're gonna go through it.
[22:18.980 -> 22:21.260] We're just gonna go through it.
[22:21.260 -> 22:24.300] If you're watching on YouTube, there'll be a timer up on the screen.
[22:24.300 -> 22:26.240] If not, I'll,
[22:26.240 -> 22:31.640] and there will also be some music behind this. So you can like, listen to it fade out.
[22:31.640 -> 22:39.040] There we go. Okay. So reminder for every prompt, you have to name two F1 drivers. They don't
[22:39.040 -> 22:49.080] need to be current F1 drivers. They are just F1 drivers in history. And if you want to pass, you can pass. We're
[22:49.080 -> 22:52.280] not going to return, so once it's gone, it is gone.
[22:52.280 -> 22:53.280] Okay.
[22:53.280 -> 22:54.280] Okay.
[22:54.280 -> 22:55.280] Okay.
[22:55.280 -> 23:01.200] All right, I'm going to start the timer, and we will have our first prompt.
[23:01.200 -> 23:03.880] Two drivers that have won a race for McLaren.
[23:03.880 -> 23:06.000] Oh, sorry, no, he hasn't.
[23:06.000 -> 23:08.000] Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.
[23:08.000 -> 23:09.000] Correct.
[23:09.000 -> 23:13.000] To have won the Drivers' Championship with Ferrari.
[23:13.000 -> 23:16.000] Or have won the championship with Ferrari, not the Drivers' Championship.
[23:16.000 -> 23:17.000] Schumacher-Reichen.
[23:17.000 -> 23:18.000] There you go.
[23:18.000 -> 23:21.000] Have raced with the number zero.
[23:22.000 -> 23:23.000] Pass.
[23:24.000 -> 23:29.240] Have started from pole and by rain. Max
[23:29.240 -> 23:34.720] for staffing. Check out for us. Check out.
[23:34.720 -> 23:46.000] A sharp. Yes. OK had a world championship driver father. Oh, um, no. Uh, uh, Nelson Piquet.
[23:46.000 -> 23:47.000] Uh-huh.
[23:47.000 -> 23:50.000] The Piquet Jr. and, uh, Mick Schumacher.
[23:50.000 -> 23:51.000] There you go.
[23:51.000 -> 23:52.000] Yeah.
[23:52.000 -> 23:53.000] Okay.
[23:53.000 -> 23:54.000] Had a team named after them.
[23:54.000 -> 23:58.000] Uh, Braun didn't drive, I don't think.
[23:58.000 -> 24:00.000] I don't know if Braun was a new driver.
[24:00.000 -> 24:01.000] Uh, uh, pass.
[24:01.000 -> 24:02.000] I'm not going to give that pass.
[24:02.000 -> 24:03.000] Yeah, that was a hard one.
[24:03.000 -> 24:06.000] Raced for two different teams in the same season.
[24:06.000 -> 24:08.000] Alex Albon, Pierre Gas.
[24:08.000 -> 24:10.000] There you go!
[24:10.000 -> 24:13.000] Won a race in their rookie F1 season.
[24:13.000 -> 24:16.000] Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen?
[24:16.000 -> 24:17.000] Nope.
[24:17.000 -> 24:19.000] That was his rookie Red Bull season, not his.
[24:21.000 -> 24:22.000] Sebastian Vettel?
[24:22.000 -> 24:23.000] Yes!
[24:23.000 -> 24:24.000] Okay.
[24:24.000 -> 24:46.600] Voiced an animated character! Nick DeVries, Lewis Hamilton! There you go! Da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da We're both in cars. I don't my brain was like McLaren animated show
[24:47.680 -> 24:50.160] Together and I don't know why that's where my brain went
[24:50.840 -> 24:54.560] So I'm trying to remember which driver it was for some reason. It's either. Oh my gosh
[24:54.560 -> 24:59.380] I'm gonna try and channel really hard if it was Kevin Magnus and or Lance Stroller someone correct me in the comments
[24:59.380 -> 25:04.580] But there is a driver that said lose him with a Nick DeVries and there was like in the tune cartoon
[25:04.720 -> 25:05.920] is a driver that said, Lewis Hamilton, Nick DeVries, and it was like in the Toon cartoon,
[25:12.960 -> 25:18.560] which is technically not an answer, but I will accept it as an answer, because I totally think it counts, because it does not specify that it needs to be in like a larger franchise.
[25:19.360 -> 25:30.440] Choco Perez, by the way, was also in that, if you just want to watch a good time. Yes. Yeah, there was a couple of really solid answers to that one,
[25:30.520 -> 25:34.480] but you did great. You had a really solid...
[25:34.560 -> 25:37.560] Like, I know, it was super stressful.
[25:37.640 -> 25:40.880] I was most excited to see if you were going to name
[25:40.960 -> 25:43.760] drivers that raced for two different teams in the same season,
[25:43.840 -> 25:45.600] because so many drivers
[25:45.600 -> 25:52.400] struggled with that answer and it's like almost awkward because they were like, I like, Logan
[25:52.400 -> 25:53.720] was like, wait, what do you mean?
[25:53.720 -> 25:58.600] Like I didn't know in the same season, like, wow, Alex Albon, I don't know.
[25:58.600 -> 26:03.880] And then it was like the awkward, like, uh, Alex and Pierre get it?
[26:03.880 -> 26:06.000] Like, did they say themselves?
[26:06.000 -> 26:09.000] Oh gosh, now I'm trying to remember what Alex's answer was.
[26:09.000 -> 26:11.000] Pierre did get it. I can't now remember.
[26:11.000 -> 26:17.000] Now that you've done this challenge, you can watch it and see the beautiful editing mashup that they did.
[26:17.000 -> 26:20.000] It is one of my favorite, like, grill the grids yet.
[26:20.000 -> 26:22.000] It is so unbelievably funny.
[26:22.000 -> 26:25.440] Lance Stroll had no idea anyone was in cars.
[26:25.440 -> 26:33.120] Well, I do find that to be like one of my random niche, niche pieces of F1 trivia that I like to
[26:33.120 -> 26:37.960] pull out and impress people with. Because so many people always are like, oh, it'd be so fun if an
[26:37.960 -> 26:43.400] F1 driver was in cars. And then I get to go, well, actually, Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher,
[26:43.400 -> 26:46.520] Sebastian Vettel, and Fernando Alonso all were in cars.
[26:46.520 -> 26:47.520] Exactly.
[26:47.520 -> 26:50.140] Do you quickly, you have only a handful left.
[26:50.140 -> 26:53.840] You want to just go through the last couple just to see if you could get them without
[26:53.840 -> 26:54.840] like this time.
[26:54.840 -> 26:59.520] Yes, but it's going to drive me crazy which F1 drivers were teams named after.
[26:59.520 -> 27:01.000] Oh my goodness.
[27:01.000 -> 27:04.040] OK, so there's actually a lot.
[27:04.040 -> 27:07.800] And my brain is blanking. So I need to know before we continue on.
[27:07.800 -> 27:09.800] Number one, Bruce McLaren.
[27:09.800 -> 27:14.200] Oh my gosh. Okay, you know what? I don't need to know.
[27:14.200 -> 27:21.000] I was gonna say, if you want to keep going, we can. I'll send you the list. But Bruce
[27:21.000 -> 27:24.000] McLaren, I was kind of an obvious one there.
[27:24.000 -> 27:25.720] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[27:25.720 -> 27:31.200] Yeah, my brain just blanked out after I was wrong about Braun because I just immediately
[27:31.200 -> 27:35.240] went to a team that was named after a person and I was like, oh my gosh.
[27:35.240 -> 27:39.160] Yeah, I mean that's what a lot of people, that's a spoiler alert, drivers were also
[27:39.160 -> 27:40.160] like, Williams racing!
[27:40.160 -> 27:41.160] And they're like, no!
[27:41.160 -> 27:42.160] No, Frank Williams never raced.
[27:42.160 -> 27:43.160] Exactly!
[27:43.160 -> 27:45.240] Yeah, the thing about F1 is that there was that time period where there was just so many and they're like, no. Frank Williams never raced. Exactly.
[27:45.240 -> 27:46.080] Yeah.
[27:46.080 -> 27:49.040] The thing about F1 is that there was that time period
[27:49.040 -> 27:50.280] where there was just like so many teams
[27:50.280 -> 27:53.480] that were around for like two seasons and they were.
[27:53.480 -> 27:56.160] Yeah, it's just like, here it is, goodbye.
[27:56.160 -> 27:58.000] I'm gonna be, hold on, hold on.
[27:58.000 -> 28:00.000] I need to sit here for like half a second
[28:00.000 -> 28:01.920] and let my brain click into,
[28:01.920 -> 28:03.800] oh, there was Stuart racing too.
[28:03.800 -> 28:06.280] I can't believe I didn't pull Stuart Racing.
[28:06.280 -> 28:08.400] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[28:08.400 -> 28:09.520] What are the other questions though?
[28:09.520 -> 28:11.160] So I don't linger on this one.
[28:11.160 -> 28:12.360] I know, because honestly,
[28:12.360 -> 28:14.760] if we keep going through the how to team,
[28:14.760 -> 28:17.040] you're just gonna get like more mad at yourself.
[28:17.040 -> 28:19.720] So I'll just let you watch the video.
[28:19.720 -> 28:20.560] The video, yeah.
[28:21.520 -> 28:23.560] Oh, Nick DeVries, they do have on the list, I believe.
[28:23.560 -> 28:24.480] Yeah, perfect, good.
[28:24.480 -> 28:25.880] As they shed for animated characters.
[28:25.880 -> 28:27.360] Okay, so then we have,
[28:27.360 -> 28:30.680] raced for Ferrari in two separate stints.
[28:31.680 -> 28:32.520] Oh.
[28:35.680 -> 28:38.000] He didn't, he didn't,
[28:39.680 -> 28:40.520] huh.
[28:41.720 -> 28:43.280] Wow, that's a really good question
[28:43.280 -> 28:46.640] that I don't know the answer to.
[28:46.640 -> 28:50.160] Give me some of the highlights.
[28:50.160 -> 28:51.160] I can't pull.
[28:51.160 -> 28:52.160] I mean, well, Kimi Raikkonen.
[28:52.160 -> 28:55.160] Oh, that was in two separate stints.
[28:55.160 -> 28:56.160] You're right.
[28:56.160 -> 28:57.160] Yeah, two separate stints.
[28:57.160 -> 28:58.560] You also have Mario Andretti.
[28:58.560 -> 29:01.960] I mean, like, yeah, you got some good ones here.
[29:01.960 -> 29:02.960] That's hard.
[29:02.960 -> 29:05.120] But that's a really good question.
[29:06.320 -> 29:07.680] They really nailed these. You're going to love some of these.
[29:08.880 -> 29:14.880] The next one is debuted in F1 with Williams and they had to start a race.
[29:17.440 -> 29:19.120] What do you mean they had to start a race?
[29:19.120 -> 29:23.840] I guess there's probably an instance of a driver that maybe had, you know, like
[29:23.840 -> 29:25.560] signed with Williams and then didn't because
[29:25.560 -> 29:29.800] F1 is so fun and exciting that maybe they ended up not starting a race at some point
[29:29.800 -> 29:31.800] in time.
[29:31.800 -> 29:37.760] George Russell and, I mean, technically Nick DeVries.
[29:37.760 -> 29:38.760] Does he count?
[29:38.760 -> 29:40.080] Because that was his debut race.
[29:40.080 -> 29:45.880] So it does appear that Nick DeVries, besides being in an animated voiceover,
[29:45.880 -> 29:49.720] has like disappeared from the-
[29:49.720 -> 29:50.560] Well, who-
[29:50.560 -> 29:51.760] I can give you some more,
[29:51.760 -> 29:54.680] because I also know that Lance Stroll is one,
[29:54.680 -> 29:56.640] and I believe Valtteri Bottas is also one.
[29:56.640 -> 29:58.760] Yes, Valtteri Bottas is one,
[29:58.760 -> 30:00.800] Nico Hulkenberg is one,
[30:00.800 -> 30:03.080] Nicholas Latifi is another one,
[30:03.080 -> 30:04.880] Jensen Button's another one,
[30:04.880 -> 30:06.720] Nico Rosberg is another one, Logan Sargent is another one, Jensen Buttons is another one, Nico Rosberg is another
[30:06.720 -> 30:09.280] one, Logan Sargent is currently debuting.
[30:09.280 -> 30:15.800] It's weird what comes to your brain when you need to like, fuck.
[30:15.800 -> 30:16.800] I know!
[30:16.800 -> 30:21.200] Well that's why this is so fun and it's even more exciting to see drivers being like, oh,
[30:21.200 -> 30:26.160] I have no idea. Drivers that won the championship,
[30:26.160 -> 30:30.400] but not the most races that season.
[30:30.400 -> 30:33.280] Oh, that is such a good question.
[30:33.280 -> 30:36.520] I believe Kimmy's championship was that way.
[30:36.520 -> 30:38.200] Kimmy is not on the list.
[30:38.200 -> 30:39.200] No.
[30:39.200 -> 30:42.080] Oh, no, Kimmy, I just always associate Kimmy's championship
[30:42.080 -> 30:44.240] with the fact that with McLaren's Spygate
[30:44.240 -> 30:46.360] and like McLaren wasn't allowed to win.
[30:47.320 -> 30:50.440] So that's, it's always like a good guess.
[30:50.440 -> 30:52.800] Was Braun's championship, like Braun GP,
[30:52.800 -> 30:55.960] sorry, Jensen's championship that way?
[30:55.960 -> 30:56.800] No?
[30:59.320 -> 31:01.560] You got like a handful that are pretty obvious
[31:01.560 -> 31:04.200] that I think you can definitely just like say
[31:04.200 -> 31:05.000] and you'd be like...
[31:05.000 -> 31:09.000] I could just say Lewis right now, but I wouldn't be able to tell you the year,
[31:09.000 -> 31:11.000] but he's won seven of them, so maybe...
[31:11.000 -> 31:13.000] Right, exactly. I mean, that's my sheer probability.
[31:13.000 -> 31:17.000] That's why when there's also like... Okay, Schumacher's not on the list.
[31:17.000 -> 31:18.000] Lewis is.
[31:18.000 -> 31:22.000] Yeah, I didn't think he was, but like... Was Vettel one of them?
[31:22.000 -> 31:23.000] Yes.
[31:23.000 -> 31:27.380] Okay. Okay, interesting. You've got Rossburg, Vettel, Hamilton, Alonzo,
[31:27.380 -> 31:33.500] Prost, Piquet. You actually have both Rossbergs on the list. You got Nicky Lauda on the list.
[31:33.500 -> 31:39.340] Emerson, Fadi Paldis on the list. Graham Hill, Phil Hill. You got a lot on this one. I was
[31:39.340 -> 31:47.680] really shocked by this too. Okay. Okay, only a few left. Okay, one, three or more consecutive F1 championships?
[31:49.040 -> 31:53.600] Uh, Vettel, Hamilton. Yeah, and Schumacher and Fangio.
[31:55.120 -> 32:05.880] I wouldn't have gotten Fangio. And that's four. Right. And, okay, last two. were teammates with Michael Schumacher. Oh, um,
[32:07.800 -> 32:11.240] my god, my brain just sputter. I know, right? It's crazy. Because
[32:11.240 -> 32:14.160] it literally I tried to play when I first watched and then I
[32:14.160 -> 32:18.280] was and I struggled. So like I don't I feel so bad now doing
[32:18.280 -> 32:22.560] this. Look, my blunder on girl the gridwalk coast will be as
[32:22.560 -> 32:24.400] bad as recording yours first.
[32:25.920 -> 32:28.560] I'm not going to be able to tell you any of them. My brain just went
[32:28.560 -> 32:29.000] nope.
[32:29.080 -> 32:35.320] Oh, hello. Okay. Max Verstappen's not father-in-law.
[32:35.800 -> 32:36.560] Oh, the PK?
[32:37.320 -> 32:39.680] And rhymes with Miko Mossberg.
[32:49.840 -> 32:55.560] Let's quiz you now. All right, moving on from whatever happened last weekend.
[32:55.560 -> 32:56.660] We have a race this weekend.
[32:56.660 -> 33:01.280] It's the Italian GP, which is always festive, at least.
[33:01.280 -> 33:07.000] And I have three things that you should know in the preview leading up to the Grand Prix.
[33:07.000 -> 33:13.000] Do they have anything to do with Ferrari's use of the color yellow?
[33:13.000 -> 33:17.000] No, but we should talk about that. That should be a bonus fourth thing.
[33:17.000 -> 33:21.000] Well, I'm very glad that those three things don't have to do with that. So let's get into it.
[33:21.000 -> 33:26.480] I think we've made enough McDonald's jokes today.
[33:26.480 -> 33:29.600] And I say that and I know I'm gonna make three more throughout the rest of the
[33:29.600 -> 33:36.800] show. So thing number one is this race, unless it rains during qualifying, is
[33:36.800 -> 33:42.400] doing the alternate tire allocation thingy where you have the hards in Q1
[33:42.400 -> 33:45.520] and then the mediums and then the softs which no
[33:45.520 -> 33:50.020] one really liked the first time we did this but we're trying it again to say we
[33:50.020 -> 33:54.300] tried it. A reminder the reason that Pirelli is doing this is because it means
[33:54.300 -> 33:57.780] they could technically bring less tires but I don't think that actually has
[33:57.780 -> 34:01.260] anything to do with the qualifying format. The reality is is the teams are
[34:01.260 -> 34:04.860] just using less tires in free practice which means there's less overall running
[34:04.860 -> 34:08.560] in free practice which might be good for competitive uncertainty,
[34:08.560 -> 34:11.080] but it's not great for the show.
[34:11.080 -> 34:12.080] Like free practice.
[34:12.080 -> 34:18.800] It makes everyone, it literally makes, it leans into why people don't enjoy watching
[34:18.800 -> 34:19.800] free practice.
[34:19.800 -> 34:26.140] Like it kind of enhances their point more because it makes it less like things are
[34:26.140 -> 34:31.440] happening and less like time and data for Brianna to run and tell me really fun and
[34:31.440 -> 34:34.400] exciting things that I feel like I have my own personal grid walk for.
[34:35.160 -> 34:35.480] Yeah.
[34:36.040 -> 34:36.320] Yeah.
[34:36.320 -> 34:40.140] It's, um, no one wants to watch a free practice where all the drivers
[34:40.140 -> 34:41.400] are just sitting in the garage.
[34:41.480 -> 34:49.520] And basically the last time that they had less tires, that's really what they did. And then all the teams and drivers the last time that they had less tires that's really what they did and then all the teams and drivers were like you give me less tires I don't get to
[34:49.520 -> 34:54.640] run in free practice and I personally believe that if people are paying up to a thousand dollars to
[34:54.640 -> 34:58.960] attend these Grand Prix's like just for normal grandstand tickets the least you can do is run
[34:58.960 -> 35:10.240] on Friday so I don't know not my favorite thing but for the actual qualifying I think I't my favorite qualifying thing. Lewis Hamilton pull aside. That was just fun because that was fun.
[35:10.240 -> 35:14.640] Like, seeing slow times in Q1 isn't partic- I don't know.
[35:14.640 -> 35:21.120] But, it's a thing, unless it rains, just that's why all these teams are running hards and mediums through qualifying.
[35:21.120 -> 35:26.960] Uh, second thing is that Pirelli brought a step softer tires
[35:26.960 -> 35:29.940] to the race, which means that hopefully,
[35:29.940 -> 35:32.880] like we will have some tire dag.
[35:32.880 -> 35:36.700] And at a very low downforce circuit, that is Monza,
[35:36.700 -> 35:38.260] because it's basically just straights,
[35:38.260 -> 35:42.280] which I'll get into in a second, please, softest tires,
[35:42.280 -> 35:44.320] bring the softest tires, and they did.
[35:44.320 -> 35:46.400] Again, assuming it doesn't rain
[35:47.240 -> 35:49.240] Yeah, we'll see
[35:49.240 -> 35:54.720] And then the third thing you should know going into this race is that this is the lowest downforce race of?
[35:55.320 -> 36:02.280] The entire season it is all just a bunch of straights with a bunch of like I think technically there are ten turns
[36:02.280 -> 36:10.800] But like I don't even know if I'd call it that. Like, it's basically just like, straights. So it's the fastest lap. It's,
[36:10.800 -> 36:16.620] so that means that the teams that are really low drag, and the teams with great power unit
[36:16.620 -> 36:20.600] performance should perform well here. So not shocking, we should expect Red Bull to win
[36:20.600 -> 36:27.680] by an exorbitant number, again, assuming that there's no safety guards or red flags to pretend so we can all pretend like there's not an
[36:27.680 -> 36:35.480] exorbitant number there. But the Williams has been low drag all season, which is
[36:35.480 -> 36:38.840] why it's incredible what they did at the race that shall not be named.
[36:39.160 -> 36:46.640] And Albon can do anything anywhere is all I have learned throughout this F1 season.
[36:47.280 -> 36:54.560] And Williams has really improved. So that's but so they should go well here. The Mercedes,
[36:54.560 -> 36:59.680] the Aston and McLaren all have been pretty draggy at different points in the season.
[36:59.680 -> 37:03.520] It's a little hard to say what the current iterations because every car is different
[37:03.520 -> 37:06.560] every week. So I can't with a lot of certainty tell you
[37:06.560 -> 37:09.840] exactly how those three will be in their like
[37:09.840 -> 37:13.440] drag to speed ratio if we're looking at the
[37:13.440 -> 37:18.640] other Mercedes cars. The other thing I'll just say is if you
[37:18.640 -> 37:23.120] want like a closest recent comparison if you want to
[37:23.120 -> 37:26.920] reference things like look at what happened at Spa.
[37:26.920 -> 37:30.400] So there might be a chance that Ferrari's decent here.
[37:30.400 -> 37:31.400] At Monza?
[37:31.400 -> 37:32.400] That's... wow.
[37:32.400 -> 37:35.200] It's like too beautiful of a setup.
[37:35.200 -> 37:38.280] How can Ferrari ruin it?
[37:38.280 -> 37:39.280] Let's find out!
[37:39.280 -> 37:42.680] Oh man, I hope they don't.
[37:42.680 -> 37:46.880] I mean, I would love for them not to. Right, and by the way, when I say
[37:46.880 -> 37:50.880] Ferrari will go well here, I'm not picking anyone other than Max Verstappen to win this race.
[37:50.880 -> 37:55.440] That Honda power unit has been the best power unit of the season, that car has been the most
[37:55.440 -> 38:02.320] efficient of the season, it has had drag problems once. Max is going to absolutely dominate this
[38:02.320 -> 38:09.600] race unless someone crashes into him for fun. Like, word for accident, it doesn't even need to be for fun. Unless someone else ruins Max Verstappen's
[38:09.600 -> 38:14.000] race, he is winning this, he's breaking Sebastian Vettel's record, that is what it is. Like,
[38:15.520 -> 38:22.560] this is... there is nothing, like, competitive about Monza. Nope. It is literally, I mean,
[38:22.560 -> 38:25.440] to your point of, it's technically 10 turns. I'm like, I
[38:25.440 -> 38:32.960] would say it's 3. Like, generously. I mean, obviously. But it is, it is the closest we
[38:32.960 -> 38:39.000] can get to like an oval that you can in this because it's just like, woooooo. I'm doing
[38:39.000 -> 38:42.040] a really great outline for all of our YouTube viewers. Woooo.
[38:42.040 -> 38:46.680] Well, the sound effect I think was great for the audio listeners.
[38:46.680 -> 38:48.080] All of the tweets that are like,
[38:48.080 -> 38:50.260] Manza just looks like an Italian person
[38:50.260 -> 38:53.240] talking with their hands like this is the greatest.
[38:53.240 -> 38:54.440] That's Manza, there it is.
[38:54.440 -> 38:55.280] Woo!
[38:57.000 -> 38:58.440] It also looks like a boot,
[38:58.440 -> 39:00.680] which is great because Italy.
[39:00.680 -> 39:01.520] All of it.
[39:01.520 -> 39:02.340] It's just a different boot.
[39:02.340 -> 39:03.180] Yeah, no, I-
[39:03.180 -> 39:04.000] It's branding.
[39:04.000 -> 39:05.000] Anything we love here is a good branding, Yeah. No, I... It's branding.
[39:05.000 -> 39:07.600] Anything we love here is a good branding, so shout out to Monza for their consistency.
[39:07.600 -> 39:13.920] At least, like, I do love the Italian GP because you know the Italian fans are at least going
[39:13.920 -> 39:16.480] to put on a spectacle.
[39:16.480 -> 39:17.960] So that's gonna be fun.
[39:17.960 -> 39:24.480] I hope a Ferrari ends up on the podium because that's always exciting just because it's Monza.
[39:24.480 -> 39:27.120] And you know, I would love to see a McDonald's
[39:27.120 -> 39:29.160] where if you're standing on an F1 podium.
[39:31.040 -> 39:33.480] I know I said I would stop making those jokes, but I lied.
[39:33.480 -> 39:35.880] Well, he did predict at least one or two more.
[39:35.880 -> 39:39.160] So at least then I can say, I hope they have McFlurries.
[39:39.160 -> 39:41.640] No, they're using Sprite McDonald's,
[39:41.640 -> 39:44.560] McDonald's Sprite instead of champagne
[39:44.560 -> 39:46.000] on the podium this year.
[39:46.000 -> 39:49.000] It's now my turn to quiz you.
[39:49.000 -> 39:51.000] Oh my goodness. And...
[39:52.000 -> 39:54.000] Wow, I'm nervous. Okay!
[39:54.000 -> 39:57.000] Second half of Grill the Grid, Wack Host.
[39:57.000 -> 40:05.800] Another Grill the Grid they did over the last couple weeks was they had the drivers order themselves from youngest to oldest. Now, all
[40:05.800 -> 40:11.320] the editing took out Nick DeVries and hadn't added Daniel Riccardo into this, so there's
[40:11.320 -> 40:15.860] only 19 drivers because there's only one Al Fattari driver here, and I didn't feel like
[40:15.860 -> 40:22.360] doing the detailed, by-day research to slot Daniel Riccardo into this. So 19 drivers,
[40:22.360 -> 40:23.360] essentially.
[40:23.360 -> 40:29.120] This answer has been driving me crazy for weeks of if he was included in this rankings
[40:29.120 -> 40:33.320] because I was like, again, I couldn't watch it, so I still have not watched it, but I
[40:33.320 -> 40:36.880] just could not understand how does this work?
[40:36.880 -> 40:41.360] He's just erased from all of this, just 19, I guess.
[40:41.360 -> 40:46.840] Is his name just like awkwardly on the board while they're like all like ranking all of these things?
[40:46.840 -> 40:49.760] Well, all of the Grilla Grids are recorded at the beginning of the season
[40:50.320 -> 40:53.780] When they do the like press videos for the intro and stuff
[40:53.780 -> 40:56.880] So yeah, Nick DeVries was very clearly in the video
[40:56.880 -> 41:02.680] But they never talked about it and in the final like I would have included him here if in the final order
[41:02.680 -> 41:05.400] They included like in the answer, him.
[41:05.400 -> 41:13.500] But they didn't, and I, again, similarly to the Daniel Riccardo thing, didn't feel like doing my own research to slot any other driver into it beyond the 19 here.
[41:13.500 -> 41:13.800] Yep.
[41:14.900 -> 41:22.100] We are recording virtually, so I obviously can't give you, like, magnets to do this professionally like they did.
[41:22.200 -> 41:23.700] Not in this economy!
[41:24.200 -> 41:24.700] Right!
[41:26.320 -> 41:30.640] You know, if you don't know, Nicole is in New York and I'm in California. We are as far away in the United States as you could
[41:30.640 -> 41:37.360] possibly be. Not, I'm not shipping you special boards for this stuff. I don't have that kind
[41:37.360 -> 41:46.160] of budget. So we're gonna take after the Try Guys and we're gonna have Nicole rank these from youngest to oldest
[41:46.160 -> 41:51.280] except I'm gonna give her one driver at the time and she needs to tell me where
[41:51.280 -> 41:55.120] she wants to put it on this ranking and then it gets locked in and she can't
[41:55.120 -> 42:00.960] move it and we're going to score her results from locking them in as I give
[42:00.960 -> 42:06.560] her random drivers and then we're also going to give her 30 seconds to do
[42:06.560 -> 42:11.840] a final rank to close it up and she can move whatever she wants around in 30 seconds
[42:12.720 -> 42:14.960] and then we'll see how much better she does that way.
[42:17.200 -> 42:27.480] I'm like really nervous for numbers 4 to 16. I honestly maybe even like three to sixteen. I'm not even confident in
[42:27.480 -> 42:36.040] my youngest or really any of these, but this is gonna be just a total mess. So I apologize
[42:36.040 -> 42:42.880] to any drivers that I offend and or compliment and or I don't know. I don't know how old
[42:42.880 -> 42:46.220] you all are. I don't know how old I all are I don't know how old I am so
[42:46.220 -> 42:49.900] you get a point for every driver you have in the correct place I will let you
[42:49.900 -> 42:54.060] know ahead of time that the best a driver did was that they got 12 of the
[42:54.060 -> 43:00.380] 19 possible points here that's a lot it's a lot I'm not saying a lot of
[43:00.380 -> 43:10.200] drivers did that well but if you were trying to beat the F1 grid, who all obviously know each other a lot better, then you would need to do that.
[43:10.200 -> 43:12.880] Multiple drivers got like four.
[43:12.880 -> 43:16.280] And I'll give you like, I'll let you know where you slot in on the drivers when we're
[43:16.280 -> 43:17.280] done with this.
[43:17.280 -> 43:21.800] They also got the opportunity to move things around, so you have a harder challenge here
[43:21.800 -> 43:22.800] than they got.
[43:22.800 -> 43:23.800] Okay.
[43:23.800 -> 43:25.400] I can also really mess you up
[43:25.400 -> 43:26.840] with the order I give you these, but-
[43:26.840 -> 43:28.120] I know, that's the other thing.
[43:28.120 -> 43:29.600] Whatever order I receive them
[43:29.600 -> 43:33.400] is also going to totally mess up my placement,
[43:33.400 -> 43:35.680] but let's get going.
[43:35.680 -> 43:39.480] All right, we're gonna start out with Fernando Alonso.
[43:39.480 -> 43:40.720] 19.
[43:40.720 -> 43:43.200] There you go, making it easy.
[43:44.640 -> 43:46.000] Kevin Magnuson.
[43:46.000 -> 43:50.000] Oh no! This is what I was concerned about!
[43:50.000 -> 43:54.000] 16.
[43:54.000 -> 44:00.000] Um, Russell.
[44:00.000 -> 44:05.680] Oh, this is where it's going to start getting in this middle area that I'm just like, I
[44:05.680 -> 44:07.720] don't really know.
[44:07.720 -> 44:08.720] Nine!
[44:08.720 -> 44:10.760] That feels low.
[44:10.760 -> 44:11.760] That feels way too low.
[44:11.760 -> 44:12.760] George Rumsfeld.
[44:12.760 -> 44:13.760] Norris!
[44:13.760 -> 44:14.760] Oh, no.
[44:14.760 -> 44:18.440] Oh, gosh, they all are just, they all look the same!
[44:18.440 -> 44:20.520] They're all like that same age!
[44:20.520 -> 44:24.520] Oh, oh my god, I'm starting to panic!
[44:24.520 -> 44:30.240] Six! Just remember, you will get to close ranks. Yeah, but I'm gonna panic that
[44:32.560 -> 44:34.560] Joke on you. Oh
[44:34.960 -> 44:36.360] I
[44:36.360 -> 44:40.360] Don't know how old George Russell is, but I know how old Joe is
[44:41.400 -> 44:48.540] Wait, so how old is Joe? He's 24! He just turned 24 at a race. What race it was, I don't
[44:48.540 -> 44:55.980] remember, but I remember them decorating for his birthday. How old is George Russell?!
[44:55.980 -> 45:05.500] This is impossible. I'm gonna- they're gonna be like all near-ish the same. Is George Russell 24? I think I put George.
[45:05.500 -> 45:06.900] I actually couldn't tell you right now.
[45:06.900 -> 45:09.200] I know you legitimately can't.
[45:09.200 -> 45:11.200] This is bad.
[45:11.200 -> 45:16.400] I'm going to put Josette 8.
[45:18.200 -> 45:22.200] All right, let's do a Valtteri Bottas.
[45:22.280 -> 45:28.160] Um, let's do a Valtteri Bottas.
[45:29.160 -> 45:32.680] My brain short-circuited. I forgot this is an audio platform.
[45:33.680 -> 45:38.200] Mostly, even though the cool people listen and watch on YouTube, I did short
[45:38.200 -> 45:40.360] circuit, so I forgot how to speak.
[45:41.920 -> 45:45.720] And my brain's like, Kevin Magnuson has children therefore he's older which
[45:45.720 -> 46:05.000] is not how society works so I am gonna put VB at 15 under K Mac uh, checkup.
[46:05.000 -> 46:08.000] 18.
[46:08.000 -> 46:10.000] Hamilton.
[46:10.000 -> 46:13.000] 17. This feels like a trap.
[46:13.000 -> 46:16.000] Uh, snites.
[46:16.000 -> 46:21.000] Oh, I forgot about Ferrari entirely!
[46:21.000 -> 46:26.000] I really have done such a good job of blocking them out of my mental space when I really
[46:26.000 -> 46:29.360] don't have to because they've hurt me so much.
[46:29.360 -> 46:30.360] Oh no.
[46:30.360 -> 46:31.360] Uh, 11.
[46:31.360 -> 46:32.360] That doesn't feel right.
[46:32.360 -> 46:41.520] Um, then I guess let's do the other Ferrari while you're freaking out about them.
[46:41.520 -> 46:43.280] Let's give you Charles Leclerc.
[46:43.280 -> 46:46.800] Definitely 10 and that is 100% why I left that space there.
[46:46.800 -> 46:48.800] Max Verstappen.
[46:51.800 -> 46:55.200] I can't even think about who I haven't talked about yet.
[46:55.200 -> 46:56.200] 13.
[46:58.800 -> 47:00.800] Alexander Albarn.
[47:01.800 -> 47:02.800] 7.
[47:04.800 -> 47:12.560] Piastri. 2. I think someone's younger than Piastri. Interesting.
[47:12.560 -> 47:32.240] Nico Hülkenberg. Oh no 5 all right there's three drivers left do
[47:32.240 -> 47:35.920] you know which ones you're missing legitimately none at all because I
[47:35.920 -> 47:39.560] definitely meant to I I've totally mess of these rankings already it's already
[47:39.560 -> 47:45.440] know some that I have to move and there's definitely- Pierre Gasly. Oh no!
[47:46.800 -> 47:50.640] Actually, no, I- 12. I kind of actually feel good about that.
[47:50.640 -> 47:51.760] Estevan O'Khan.
[47:51.760 -> 47:54.800] Nope, but he cannot be this far away at number 4.
[47:55.680 -> 47:57.280] And then Lance Stroll.
[47:57.280 -> 47:59.520] Oh my gosh, Lance Stroll's-
[48:00.640 -> 48:01.600] Okay, okay.
[48:01.600 -> 48:09.200] All right, so before I give you your answers, of course, now we're gonna get to
[48:09.200 -> 48:17.080] close ranks here. Alright, so Nicole, you have 30 seconds to close ranks when I say
[48:17.080 -> 48:26.800] go. Actually, I'm gonna give you 45 seconds because I will tell you that this is particularly rough, what you have here. This is wrong! This is not correct!
[48:26.800 -> 48:29.800] Um, so...
[48:29.800 -> 48:34.800] And you'll basically just tell me what driver you want to move to what number,
[48:34.800 -> 48:39.800] and as long as you say it out loud, even if I don't physically move it within the time,
[48:39.800 -> 48:43.800] that will be okay, and I'll just, like, finalize everything you say at the end.
[48:43.800 -> 48:45.840] Okay. That's so great
[48:46.440 -> 48:50.640] I'm really all just thinking how every time Eugene and the Try Guys does this he's like
[48:51.200 -> 48:58.280] I'm right. You're wrong. Shut up. But like I'm so clearly there's there's numerical data that shows that I am wrong. All right
[48:59.360 -> 49:01.360] 45 seconds to close ranks
[49:01.680 -> 49:03.680] starting now
[49:03.840 -> 49:18.640] Okay Oscar then Logan, then Yuki, then Joe, oh no, this is going to be hard to tell who
[49:18.640 -> 49:24.920] I have left, then Lando.
[49:24.920 -> 49:26.000] Keep going.
[49:26.000 -> 49:29.000] George.
[49:29.000 -> 49:32.000] Oh no.
[49:32.000 -> 49:35.000] Then Alex.
[49:35.000 -> 49:38.000] Then Lance.
[49:38.000 -> 49:48.000] Then Charles.
[49:52.000 -> 49:56.000] Then Esteban. Then... Oh no!
[49:56.000 -> 50:00.000] Okay, so we know you're only going to get credit for this
[50:00.000 -> 50:04.000] much, and then I'm just going to move over your bottom.
[50:04.000 -> 50:06.680] But if you would like to share with the class
[50:06.680 -> 50:09.920] what you would have reordered this, like,
[50:09.920 -> 50:13.360] bottom section to, I think that's totally fair.
[50:13.360 -> 50:18.480] You know what? Honestly, I probably only would have switched...
[50:18.480 -> 50:24.560] Actually, this is probably better than what I would have done.
[50:24.560 -> 50:27.640] Um... I was getting really nervous about Actually, this is probably better than what I would have done.
[50:27.640 -> 50:30.320] I was getting really nervous about the...
[50:30.320 -> 50:32.200] Oh, wait, except now I have Lance.
[50:32.200 -> 50:34.760] Oh, no, I did move Lance.
[50:34.760 -> 50:35.760] You know what?
[50:35.760 -> 50:36.760] I feel good about this.
[50:36.760 -> 50:38.360] I don't have any repetitive drivers.
[50:38.360 -> 50:50.040] I feel a little bit more confident about where I currently have the Alpine French Peen boys and I don't have Lance as the youngest, so
[50:50.040 -> 50:54.320] I feel pretty good about rectifying my past wrongs.
[50:54.320 -> 50:55.320] Alright.
[50:55.320 -> 51:01.200] I feel so intense about finding out what the real answer to this is.
[51:01.200 -> 51:06.640] Okay, well, Piastri is the youngest driver. So you got
[51:06.640 -> 51:11.120] that right on closing ranks. And then it does go Sergeant
[51:11.120 -> 51:17.800] Sonoda. So you got that right on closing ranks as well. Then the
[51:18.360 -> 51:23.320] fourth youngest driver is actually Lando Norris. No, so
[51:23.320 -> 51:29.520] close. Oh my god. He's 23. Isn't he? I don't know, I just know that
[51:29.520 -> 51:33.680] this is the order. This is the order, that's all that, yeah. Right. I will say it's really impressive
[51:33.680 -> 51:50.480] that in your first go around, you got Sargent 3 when he was 2, and Norris, you got 6 when he was 4, four like that was pretty close um then stroll is actually fifth oh so you put stroll eighth here
[51:50.480 -> 51:58.800] and stroll first so like that was the okay the first time was an accident yes um then it's
[51:58.800 -> 52:06.920] george russell in six one two three oh ge George Russell's in seventh. So you were so close if you just
[52:06.920 -> 52:15.000] snuck a Lance stroll. After Russell is actually Charlotte Clare. So in both instances, you
[52:15.000 -> 52:20.280] thought that Charlotte Clare was much older than he actually is, because he's the eighth
[52:20.280 -> 52:27.040] youngest driver in the grid. He's had enough trauma from Ferrari that I
[52:27.040 -> 52:32.320] just think he's so much older than he is.
[52:32.880 -> 52:37.200] Yep, now here I think this one's gonna shock you that the ninth youngest driver
[52:37.200 -> 52:42.160] on the grid is Max Verstappen. You put him in both
[52:42.160 -> 52:48.000] instances at 13. He's just been an F1 driver since he was 16.
[52:48.000 -> 52:52.000] How old is Max?
[52:52.000 -> 52:56.000] Isn't Max like 25?
[52:56.000 -> 52:59.000] You don't know. You don't have that answer, but I'm going to lie.
[52:59.000 -> 53:01.000] I really should have filled this up.
[53:01.000 -> 53:05.000] I think the reality is that he is the same age as LeClaire and Russell.
[53:05.000 -> 53:08.280] Their birthdays are just at different times of the year.
[53:08.280 -> 53:12.640] But because he's actually fighting for championships in a competitive car and he's been an F1
[53:12.640 -> 53:14.120] since he was 16.
[53:14.120 -> 53:17.040] Yeah, that's it.
[53:17.040 -> 53:19.860] He joined F1 at the same time as Carlos Sainz.
[53:19.860 -> 53:21.840] And you'll notice that we haven't gotten to Sainz yet.
[53:21.840 -> 53:24.280] And we won't for a little bit.
[53:24.280 -> 53:26.320] Yeah. So you
[53:26.320 -> 53:35.640] have got your fourth point in Esteban Ocon being 10th. Esty besty let's go. The 11th
[53:35.640 -> 53:48.240] driver is Alex Albon. Yeah that makes sense. Then you got another point, and this is your first point on your initial rankings, because Ghastly is the 12th driver.
[53:48.240 -> 53:49.240] Incredible.
[53:49.240 -> 53:53.720] But I do think that Okon, Albon, and Ghastly are all the same age.
[53:53.720 -> 53:59.160] Yeah, that's why, like, there was, I, in my initial rankings, I completely forgot about
[53:59.160 -> 54:00.540] Alpine's existence.
[54:00.540 -> 54:06.000] So like, there was, I was not saving any space for them to be near each other at all in my ranking.
[54:06.000 -> 54:13.000] When all that was left was, it was 12, 4, and 1, and I was looking at my list of drivers,
[54:13.000 -> 54:17.000] and we had the two Alpine drivers and Lance Stroll. I was like, oh no.
[54:17.000 -> 54:20.000] That's why I asked you if you knew what drivers were left.
[54:20.000 -> 54:26.920] Nope. Was not really being able to pay attention and or keep track. Yep. Um, next is Carlos Sainz
[54:27.400 -> 54:31.180] Then it's not Nico Hulkenberg, but it's the other HASS in K-Mag
[54:32.080 -> 54:37.520] Then it's actually Checo Perez who you said was second oldest to Alonso, but he's actually
[54:38.480 -> 54:40.560] You know only here then
[54:41.680 -> 54:43.680] Then you have Bottas
[54:43.680 -> 54:46.480] so the thing that was really frustrating to hear is that you were
[54:46.480 -> 54:51.200] like saying a lot of the right things out loud, where you were like, K-Mag has a kid,
[54:51.200 -> 54:53.760] but that doesn't mean he's old. And it's like, nope, nope.
[54:53.760 -> 54:58.040] I still felt that he was older, so I put him there.
[54:58.040 -> 55:06.000] Yep, he is younger. In this like group of what you would probably call like F1's currently more elderly statesmen for F1,
[55:06.000 -> 55:10.600] which is like Magnuson, Perez, Bottas, Nico, Hulkenberg.
[55:10.600 -> 55:13.100] The not 20 year olds, basically.
[55:13.100 -> 55:21.400] This is where I was upset with you because you know that Hamilton is the second oldest driver to Fernando Alonso.
[55:21.400 -> 55:27.840] This is just a fact you know. Is it though? Because I clearly in the moment
[55:27.840 -> 55:37.280] really felt that Checo and Alonso were giving so much more older dad energy that I just made them
[55:37.280 -> 55:46.720] older. So you scored six points here, which I'm really impressed by, particularly like I stressed you out
[55:46.720 -> 55:51.920] with the time and like the whole closing ranks thing, and I just made this like the most stressful
[55:51.920 -> 55:59.200] experience. That means that you scored better than Yuki, Jogwan Yu, Kevin Magnussen, and VB.
[56:00.480 -> 56:05.240] I'll take that. I'll take that. I look that sounds like I
[56:06.000 -> 56:09.620] Mean, I did not make that to Q2. So like but you know
[56:11.160 -> 56:14.720] That's okay. You're not last you did not
[56:15.320 -> 56:17.000] Some of the f1 drivers
[56:17.000 -> 56:21.200] I will also point out that there were three f1 drivers who scored seven points to only like
[56:21.400 -> 56:25.040] Slightly better and did it under less pressure than you and that was Lewis
[56:25.040 -> 56:29.600] Hamilton, Niko Hulkenberg, and Checo. So like you're kind of in that ballpark and I say doing
[56:29.600 -> 56:34.000] almost as well as Lewis Hamilton is all we can strive for in life. I agree, I'll take that.
[56:34.000 -> 56:39.040] Almost as good as Lewis Hamilton. Put that everywhere for me. Are you curious who did the best?
[56:40.480 -> 56:44.880] It's gotta be Oscar. I feel like he's doing some freaky weird stuff with this like
[56:45.000 -> 56:52.000] It's gotta be Oscar. I feel like he's doing some freaky weird stuff with this like... He just was too good at the name two drivers that as I was watching this I was like, I think he studied for this.
[56:52.000 -> 56:56.000] So he wasn't in the like top group.
[56:56.000 -> 57:01.000] In like tied for P2 with 11 points was Max, Pierre, and Carlos.
[57:01.000 -> 57:07.600] Which I thought was interesting because those are three drivers that have been in F1 for a while, and they're right in the middle of the age group, so maybe
[57:07.600 -> 57:13.200] they were able to place people above and below them better? 100%! That is so exactly what they
[57:13.200 -> 57:18.960] did. I was totally thinking that it was just going to be like Fernando knew every single person below
[57:18.960 -> 57:22.080] him, but it's just like all these people are younger than me, but that makes so much sense.
[57:23.120 -> 57:26.840] What do I do with these children? But I think everyone
[57:26.840 -> 57:32.920] got Alonzo, right? Not everyone got Piastri, like, Sergeant. Like, a lot of people put
[57:32.920 -> 57:34.120] Sergeant as the youngest.
[57:34.120 -> 57:39.360] I almost did, but I just, something in my gut was like, no, it's definitely Oscar.
[57:39.360 -> 57:52.040] P1, three drivers tied for P1 with 12 points, that was Lance, Lando and George. Lance, Lando and George. That is the most surprising mix of drivers I probably
[57:52.040 -> 57:57.520] would have guessed of getting this right. I thought so too. And now George Russell seems like the kind of guy who would know
[57:57.520 -> 58:03.220] everyone's birthdays but I wouldn't have put Lance and Stroll up there so maybe
[58:03.220 -> 58:07.560] we need to reconsider. Maybe they're actually really good, like, birthday gift givers. Who knows?
[58:08.060 -> 58:12.700] Lance Stroll didn't know that, like, three members of the grid were in cars.
[58:12.980 -> 58:15.940] I don't think he knows when anyone's birthday is.
[58:15.940 -> 58:22.380] That is much more niche than knowing one of the 19 other drivers that you work with's birthday.
[58:22.380 -> 58:24.480] Compete against birthdays.
[58:24.740 -> 58:30.620] Being part of the car cinematic universe is totally different.
[58:30.620 -> 58:32.620] Then now everyone knows Nicole's priorities.
[58:32.620 -> 58:33.860] I think you did really well.
[58:33.860 -> 58:35.740] This was hard.
[58:35.740 -> 58:36.780] We did a good job.
[58:36.780 -> 58:39.060] Grill the Gridwalk host once again.
[58:39.060 -> 58:40.900] I feel like we could definitely hold their own
[58:40.900 -> 58:42.500] in one of these segments.
[58:42.500 -> 58:44.020] I think the reality is if we were
[58:44.020 -> 58:46.300] under those lights with those producers, I think we would
[58:46.300 -> 58:48.640] crack.
[58:48.640 -> 58:51.680] I would forget what everyone is as a sport.
[58:51.680 -> 58:56.360] Alright, it's that time of a race preview where we're going to make our predictions.
[58:56.360 -> 59:01.120] So this is week two of this current sprint to the end of the season.
[59:01.120 -> 59:09.520] Reminder that the stakes is whoever loses in our predictions at the end of Abu Dhabi is going to have to do an ice bath, which neither of us want to do. But we're
[59:09.520 -> 59:13.480] both off to a great start because neither of us scored a single point last week at the
[59:13.480 -> 59:18.000] Dutch GP, which didn't happen. So it's really fitting that none, neither of us scored any
[59:18.000 -> 59:19.000] points.
[59:19.000 -> 59:27.600] There was no Dutch GP. And it's so great that even though I predicted Alex Albon to get P10 at a circuit that he
[59:27.600 -> 59:31.920] definitely should have definitely not scored points in Williams, he got P8. But the Dutch
[59:31.920 -> 59:40.120] GP did not happen, so none of that is real. Right, so all is well. Reminder that we switched
[59:40.120 -> 59:46.000] up a little bit while we're picking, but you'll catch on as we go. So, Nicole, who'd you have as
[59:46.000 -> 59:52.960] P2 for this week's Italian GP? I'm maintaining my DeLulu. I have not deleted anything at all. I'm
[59:52.960 -> 59:59.280] keeping Lewis Hamilton at P2 because I believe, I believe, still I rise, Lewis Hamilton P2.
[01:00:01.680 -> 01:00:06.280] That's okay. I'm still asleep. I'm not waking up, not waking up from the hope alarm, I'm
[01:00:06.280 -> 01:00:07.960] gonna keep it right there.
[01:00:07.960 -> 01:00:11.280] So the only reason I hit the hope alarm is because you said you were picking it because
[01:00:11.280 -> 01:00:16.080] you were de lulu, and your words back at you.
[01:00:16.080 -> 01:00:22.400] Even though Lewis Hamilton did great at spa, so like, he was P3 at spa, that being said,
[01:00:22.400 -> 01:00:26.760] I'm actually going to take the Spa podium and my P2 is
[01:00:26.760 -> 01:00:27.760] Charlotte Clare.
[01:00:27.760 -> 01:00:37.200] I'm, again, audio, audio components of this entire show. And I have been dumbfounded.
[01:00:37.200 -> 01:00:43.320] I don't even we don't have an audio for so I'll do it ourselves. But okay, well that
[01:00:43.320 -> 01:00:47.000] I did not anticipate happening at all.
[01:00:47.000 -> 01:00:51.920] No, and because I said it, I'm sure it's going to go horribly.
[01:00:51.920 -> 01:01:00.840] But I felt the need, like he was P2 at Spa, I think the Ferrari PU is not bad.
[01:01:00.840 -> 01:01:05.000] The error in their car is not that it's draggy at all.
[01:01:06.360 -> 01:01:09.100] So if Ferrari is going to have a good result,
[01:01:09.100 -> 01:01:11.060] it should be this weekend.
[01:01:11.060 -> 01:01:14.160] Again, he's not competing for the race win.
[01:01:15.400 -> 01:01:17.160] But I'll put the positive vibes out there.
[01:01:17.160 -> 01:01:20.860] Leclerc on podium at the home race for Ferrari.
[01:01:20.860 -> 01:01:24.960] One week team forgets tires for a pit stop.
[01:01:24.960 -> 01:01:25.000] The next week, P2 on the podium. It would be a beautiful story One week team forgets tires for pit stop.
[01:01:25.000 -> 01:01:28.160] The next week, P2 on the podium.
[01:01:28.160 -> 01:01:31.760] It would be a beautiful story and I'm not rooting against it at all.
[01:01:31.760 -> 01:01:36.000] Such a different circuit than the Dutch GP last week.
[01:01:36.000 -> 01:01:37.000] So different.
[01:01:37.000 -> 01:01:38.000] Right.
[01:01:38.000 -> 01:01:39.000] Completely different.
[01:01:39.000 -> 01:01:42.560] That being said, I will quickly throw in there that my P3 is Lewis.
[01:01:42.560 -> 01:01:46.880] So even though I hit the hope alarm for you, like I said, I'm taking the spa podium.
[01:01:46.880 -> 01:01:48.680] That's what I think we're going to get here.
[01:01:48.680 -> 01:01:49.680] Lewis P3.
[01:01:49.680 -> 01:01:56.800] And my P3 is Checo, because as much as a hopeful arm I want to put as Lewis Hamilton for P2,
[01:01:56.800 -> 01:02:03.360] I have a slight realization that this is a bunch of straights and Red Bull, Honda, exactly
[01:02:03.360 -> 01:02:10.640] all the reasons that you said. So even with everything happening with Checo, I just felt like I had him in conversation.
[01:02:10.640 -> 01:02:16.840] Just kind of felt like a right track to bring him back on the podium for me.
[01:02:16.840 -> 01:02:17.840] I would-
[01:02:17.840 -> 01:02:20.840] I felt like it was fitting for Checo's whole season.
[01:02:20.840 -> 01:02:28.060] And it is, and I would not be- as Not surprised as you would be if Charles is not followed through with your predictions
[01:02:28.060 -> 01:02:30.860] I would not be surprised if check on followed through with mine
[01:02:31.780 -> 01:02:37.600] So who do you have as the team that is gonna score the most points?
[01:02:38.120 -> 01:02:39.640] not
[01:02:39.640 -> 01:02:41.640] named Red Bull I
[01:02:42.680 -> 01:02:44.680] Have
[01:02:44.880 -> 01:02:45.920] I'm gonna regret it. I'm gonna regret it. I'm gonna regret it. I've sworn off doing it, but I'm gonna do it. I have, I'm gonna regret it, I'm gonna regret it,
[01:02:45.920 -> 01:02:47.160] I'm gonna regret it, I'm gonna regret it,
[01:02:47.160 -> 01:02:48.560] I've sworn off doing it, but I'm gonna do it,
[01:02:48.560 -> 01:02:49.600] I have Ferrari.
[01:02:50.440 -> 01:02:51.280] Wow.
[01:02:51.280 -> 01:02:52.100] Mm-hmm.
[01:02:52.100 -> 01:02:54.140] And you don't even have them on your podium.
[01:02:54.140 -> 01:02:55.680] I don't, but you know when sometimes
[01:02:55.680 -> 01:02:57.080] I just feel like hedging my bets,
[01:02:57.080 -> 01:02:59.540] and I have gone on a really long stinge
[01:02:59.540 -> 01:03:04.540] of I am not going to predict either Ferrari driver,
[01:03:04.640 -> 01:03:05.640] I'll give them something. I'll give them something here. Last week I tried to predict either Ferrari driver. I'll give them something.
[01:03:05.640 -> 01:03:07.640] I'll give them something here.
[01:03:07.640 -> 01:03:10.440] Last week I tried to predict Mercedes and, you know,
[01:03:10.440 -> 01:03:11.620] George, but whatever.
[01:03:12.880 -> 01:03:14.560] I'm sticking with Mercedes.
[01:03:14.560 -> 01:03:15.700] Okay.
[01:03:15.700 -> 01:03:18.420] Just because I firmly don't believe that Ferrari
[01:03:18.420 -> 01:03:20.500] can do right by both of their drivers
[01:03:20.500 -> 01:03:21.980] in the same race right now,
[01:03:21.980 -> 01:03:23.720] which means it's gonna be very hard for them
[01:03:23.720 -> 01:03:28.000] to be the top team not named Red Bull to score the most points, in my opinion. If they do,
[01:03:28.000 -> 01:03:35.280] I'll be happy. I have Charles predicted for P2, but both drivers in one race? Whew, Ferrari.
[01:03:35.280 -> 01:03:49.760] I know. It's very bold. But you know what? Sometimes you just gotta go with it. Which is good leaning into P10, which now I just suddenly feel like P10 is bold all
[01:03:49.760 -> 01:03:53.640] the time.
[01:03:53.640 -> 01:03:56.400] I am maintaining Alex Albon in P10.
[01:03:56.400 -> 01:03:57.400] Oh.
[01:03:57.400 -> 01:03:58.400] Whoa.
[01:03:58.400 -> 01:03:59.400] Only P10?
[01:03:59.400 -> 01:04:00.400] Only P10?
[01:04:00.400 -> 01:04:04.560] Well, I can't predict him anywhere else.
[01:04:04.560 -> 01:04:07.720] And I'm also just kind of thinking that if like Ferraris on their game
[01:04:07.720 -> 01:04:12.300] I started playing a little bit of like car math here of like where drivers could fall
[01:04:12.300 -> 01:04:18.740] I would love for him to once again be higher but including maybe not the same DNFs as
[01:04:19.700 -> 01:04:25.040] Previous races that did not happen. I have Alex Albon in my P10 for this week. Where
[01:04:25.040 -> 01:04:30.140] do you have? I almost put Alex Albon on my podium just for something fun. Like I genuinely
[01:04:30.140 -> 01:04:35.100] think that that Williams in Alex Albon's hand should be competing for a top five this week
[01:04:35.100 -> 01:04:39.820] on Merit. Unless they completely changed up the car and that's why last week it did well
[01:04:39.820 -> 01:04:43.580] at the high downforce Dutch GP and there's something we don't know and all of a sudden
[01:04:43.580 -> 01:04:46.360] that car is really draggy because that could could happen, because the car is different.
[01:04:46.360 -> 01:04:50.000] But this should be an Alex Albon top five.
[01:04:50.000 -> 01:04:52.320] I will be, if you are correct,
[01:04:52.320 -> 01:04:54.680] I will be disappointed, not because you are correct,
[01:04:54.680 -> 01:04:56.160] but because I will be let down
[01:04:56.160 -> 01:04:58.200] that Alex Albon's only in P10.
[01:04:58.200 -> 01:05:00.440] My disappointment will be completely masked
[01:05:00.440 -> 01:05:03.280] by me gaining of points in our competition, so.
[01:05:03.280 -> 01:05:04.360] That's fair.
[01:05:04.360 -> 01:05:09.660] Well, similarly, my P10 is I am predicting that the American
[01:05:09.660 -> 01:05:12.280] driver Logan Sargent will be P10 this week.
[01:05:13.040 -> 01:05:17.840] Wow, big DNF to gaining points.
[01:05:18.080 -> 01:05:18.800] Big difference.
[01:05:19.840 -> 01:05:21.700] I'm thinking the difference between the drivers.
[01:05:21.700 -> 01:05:27.680] If I think Alex Albon is going to be able to compete for a top five, I think Logan Sargent is going to be able to scrape into his first
[01:05:27.680 -> 01:05:28.680] points.
[01:05:28.680 -> 01:05:31.320] Are you predicting an Aston Martin struggle?
[01:05:31.320 -> 01:05:38.000] I am predicting at least one of the three other Mercedes-powered cars to have a rough
[01:05:38.000 -> 01:05:39.500] go at it.
[01:05:39.500 -> 01:05:44.120] So like whether that's Aston Martin or McLaren or even Mercedes, like I don't think it's
[01:05:44.120 -> 01:05:45.280] going to be Mercedes but like
[01:05:46.160 -> 01:05:49.380] And the Mercedes power unit seems to be a step behind
[01:05:50.140 -> 01:05:54.880] Ferraris and Hondas and then who the hell knows about Alpine so
[01:05:56.800 -> 01:05:58.800] We don't know
[01:05:59.600 -> 01:06:02.640] Alpine makes these predictions so hard. Yes
[01:06:03.200 -> 01:06:06.160] What we do know about Alpine is that they literally requested
[01:06:06.160 -> 01:06:10.720] engine equalization because their engine is so poor. So yes, the one thing I know for sure
[01:06:10.720 -> 01:06:14.480] is that Alpine technically should have a bad weekend if that is true.
[01:06:17.840 -> 01:06:28.480] Pierre was on the podium. My brain hurts. Okay, who do you have as this time around we are guessing the last to finish
[01:06:28.480 -> 01:06:36.160] that is not DNFs that would be whatever the P20 is P whatever behind in front of all of
[01:06:36.160 -> 01:06:47.080] the DNFs. Who do you have last crossing the finish line. So this was really difficult because in my opinion, the three slowest cars right now are the two Alphas
[01:06:47.080 -> 01:06:48.840] and the
[01:06:51.120 -> 01:06:52.320] Haas.
[01:06:52.320 -> 01:06:55.360] So that's two Ferrari power units
[01:06:55.360 -> 01:06:59.340] and one Honda power unit.
[01:06:59.340 -> 01:07:01.080] And technically those are the power units
[01:07:01.080 -> 01:07:04.680] that I just said should go decently well at this track.
[01:07:04.680 -> 01:07:05.440] So all of that
[01:07:05.440 -> 01:07:10.240] being said, I chose K-Mech because if there's one thing I know for sure, it's that Haas can't
[01:07:10.240 -> 01:07:16.560] perform on race day. And I just flipped a coin between the two drivers. So I'm really sorry,
[01:07:16.560 -> 01:07:21.040] K-Mech, I like you better than Hulkenberg, but it landed on heads.
[01:07:21.480 -> 01:07:23.580] it landed on heads.
[01:07:26.760 -> 01:07:28.520] And for me, I'm just feeling like a little bit of a salty fan here.
[01:07:28.520 -> 01:07:30.760] I do have Liam Lawson as last,
[01:07:30.760 -> 01:07:32.000] and it's nothing against Liam.
[01:07:32.000 -> 01:07:34.360] I am impressed of what happened this weekend,
[01:07:34.360 -> 01:07:36.760] but it's just of the principle of the situation,
[01:07:36.760 -> 01:07:40.160] and it is what I have picked to deal with my emotions,
[01:07:40.160 -> 01:07:42.160] and it is nothing against him.
[01:07:42.160 -> 01:07:43.200] That is completely fair.
[01:07:43.200 -> 01:07:45.280] We have a podcast that is our podcast that
[01:07:45.280 -> 01:07:49.280] we can do whatever we want and if you want to use it to deal with your Daniel Riccardo emotions it
[01:07:49.280 -> 01:07:57.360] will not be the first time. I can't believe this is happening! Okay, real quick tangent here of our
[01:07:57.360 -> 01:08:06.520] predictions before we wrap this up. If Daniel Riccardo, and I don't think he's going to lose this seat because of Liam Lawson,
[01:08:06.520 -> 01:08:11.180] like if he was not going to be back in a seat next year, I just think that would happen.
[01:08:11.180 -> 01:08:12.560] Like I don't think there's risk.
[01:08:12.560 -> 01:08:16.760] But this made me realize for the first time I started thinking about the fact that at
[01:08:16.760 -> 01:08:19.440] the end of the season we could go through exactly what we went through at the end of
[01:08:19.440 -> 01:08:23.480] last season again, which is that Daniel Ricciardo won't have a seat next season.
[01:08:23.480 -> 01:08:28.800] And I don't actually think that's going to happen, but my brain started spiraling on your behalf about that.
[01:08:28.800 -> 01:08:29.800] Are you okay?
[01:08:29.800 -> 01:08:36.720] No, I'm not fine. I just literally suddenly feel like I am back in the like waiting for
[01:08:36.720 -> 01:08:41.920] Mercedes waiting, waiting for McLaren to like make an announcement about something or waiting
[01:08:41.920 -> 01:08:48.540] for like him to make an announcement about something something All I have to say is I have gained so much peace of mind
[01:08:49.120 -> 01:08:53.400] Thanks to Lance stroll because Lance stroll had
[01:08:54.520 -> 01:08:59.680] Both of his arms and cast at the start of this season and he is still driving
[01:09:00.480 -> 01:09:05.800] And you know what? That's that's some kind of what I'm hoping on right now.
[01:09:05.800 -> 01:09:07.040] I don't know.
[01:09:07.040 -> 01:09:14.840] This has been our drivers break risks this season.
[01:09:14.840 -> 01:09:21.900] If I had two nickels for every time a gridwalks host favorite driver had to get surgery due
[01:09:21.900 -> 01:09:27.200] to a broken wrist and or hand during the 2023 F1 season,
[01:09:27.200 -> 01:09:32.920] I would have two nickels, which is really weird that the same thing happened twice in
[01:09:32.920 -> 01:09:34.920] such a short amount of time!
[01:09:34.920 -> 01:09:42.280] Welcome back to Yellow Cycle Notes.
[01:09:42.280 -> 01:09:48.100] Not the fastest walk around F1, but we will complete a full lap around the hepatic, hitting every F1 garage. Reminder, if you
[01:09:48.100 -> 01:09:52.640] don't watch this on YouTube, Nicole mouths that along with me every single week.
[01:09:52.640 -> 01:09:57.000] First note on our Yellow Sector Notes today is that Taylor Swift performed at
[01:09:57.000 -> 01:10:01.000] the stadium where the Mexico GP was held this last weekend, which means that she
[01:10:01.000 -> 01:10:05.680] actually sold out the Mexican GP four times.
[01:10:11.280 -> 01:10:17.360] Four. Four full times. Four full times. As soon as I saw people getting let into the Mexico GP grandstands, I was like, wow, all of my loves are combining together as one. It was
[01:10:18.240 -> 01:10:25.200] incredible. Azen Martin is going to be running a rookie driver during FP1 this weekend.
[01:10:25.200 -> 01:10:28.800] Rumor has it that the new Lewis Hamilton Funko Pop will drop this December.
[01:10:28.800 -> 01:10:32.640] It looks so cute, he's in a little car.
[01:10:32.640 -> 01:10:35.920] There's already an existing, by the way, I'm saying new Lewis Hamilton Funko Pop because
[01:10:35.920 -> 01:10:38.800] if you didn't know, he already has one, and I also really like that one.
[01:10:38.800 -> 01:10:41.360] It's just out of reach right now, or I would pull it into frame.
[01:10:41.360 -> 01:10:42.360] Isn't yours in frame?
[01:10:42.360 -> 01:10:43.360] Mine is not in this room.
[01:10:43.360 -> 01:10:46.240] Hold on, I said it it into frame. Isn't yours in frame? Mine is not in this room.
[01:10:46.240 -> 01:10:48.600] Hold on, I said it, please hold.
[01:10:48.600 -> 01:10:51.480] We got ours at the Peterson Museum.
[01:10:51.480 -> 01:10:52.320] Yes, we did.
[01:10:52.320 -> 01:10:54.680] So if you're in LA, highly recommend a visit.
[01:10:54.680 -> 01:10:57.600] Oh, he's so cute, his earring!
[01:10:57.600 -> 01:11:01.440] I love Funko Pops more than probably any person
[01:11:01.440 -> 01:11:04.880] above the age of 20 should, but wow.
[01:11:04.880 -> 01:11:06.920] And will I buy Lewis Hamilton in
[01:11:06.920 -> 01:11:11.720] a car? You best believe it. Me too. My favorite thing is that he has a nose
[01:11:11.720 -> 01:11:16.640] ring which is very relevant and I like that they gave him like dreads in a
[01:11:16.640 -> 01:11:23.760] ponytail. So yes moving on from that Max Verstappen got the replacement for his
[01:11:23.760 -> 01:11:26.000] broken Hungarian GP trophy.
[01:11:26.000 -> 01:11:31.000] Reddit was actually featured on the halo of Alpine's car this past weekend in a partnership
[01:11:31.000 -> 01:11:33.000] they did with the brand.
[01:11:33.000 -> 01:11:37.000] Haas announced that both of their drivers will be returning for 2024, so my Hulk to
[01:11:37.000 -> 01:11:39.000] Red Bull prediction has not panned out.
[01:11:39.000 -> 01:11:43.000] And yes, I know that that was announced a week ago, but we missed it in the last recording.
[01:11:43.000 -> 01:11:45.680] So in case you missed it, now you know. And nothing else.
[01:11:45.680 -> 01:11:46.500] Well, like a day.
[01:11:46.500 -> 01:11:48.360] They literally, we recorded, they announced it,
[01:11:48.360 -> 01:11:50.200] and we were like, oh, house.
[01:11:50.200 -> 01:11:51.320] Yep.
[01:11:51.320 -> 01:11:54.360] But the good news is that there's almost never news for Haas.
[01:11:54.360 -> 01:11:58.360] It's like almost the least eventful team on the grid.
[01:11:58.360 -> 01:12:01.640] So I'm telling everyone now in case you missed it.
[01:12:01.640 -> 01:12:03.960] McLaren introduced a new rear wing concept
[01:12:03.960 -> 01:12:05.000] this last weekend
[01:12:05.000 -> 01:12:06.960] that aims at reducing drag.
[01:12:06.960 -> 01:12:09.880] They're really following what every other team on the grid
[01:12:09.880 -> 01:12:11.280] is doing now.
[01:12:11.280 -> 01:12:13.580] Ferrari has started to make lots of headlines
[01:12:13.580 -> 01:12:16.000] because they're talking about their brand new car concept
[01:12:16.000 -> 01:12:17.120] for 2024.
[01:12:17.120 -> 01:12:18.720] Nicole, are you feeling hopeful?
[01:12:19.800 -> 01:12:20.640] No.
[01:12:20.640 -> 01:12:23.120] It's just no.
[01:12:23.120 -> 01:12:28.600] Logan Sargent's crash last weekend was due to a car malfunction where he lost all power
[01:12:28.600 -> 01:12:34.200] steering so Williams came out and took full blame and responsibility for the crash.
[01:12:34.200 -> 01:12:37.760] AlphaTauri has announced that Liam Lawson will continue to drive for the team until
[01:12:37.760 -> 01:12:44.680] Daniel Ricciardo is fit to drive, but he will not be permanently replacing Daniel Ricciardo.
[01:12:44.680 -> 01:12:46.400] We also failed to point out last weekend
[01:12:46.400 -> 01:12:49.000] that Alfa Romeo had graffiti themed race suits,
[01:12:49.000 -> 01:12:51.640] garage names, and an overall livery.
[01:12:51.640 -> 01:12:53.180] So we're telling you now in case you missed it
[01:12:53.180 -> 01:12:54.920] because no team gets less attention
[01:12:54.920 -> 01:12:56.740] or airtime on the grid than Alfa Romeo.
[01:12:56.740 -> 01:12:58.920] So you might not even have seen the car.
[01:13:00.180 -> 01:13:03.440] That is the grid walk for August 31st, 2023 completed.
[01:13:03.440 -> 01:13:08.240] How was my sector time today, Nicole? Faster than Ferrari got tires to the pit stop.
[01:13:08.240 -> 01:13:10.880] Low bar.
[01:13:10.880 -> 01:13:13.280] I'm not asking for much.
[01:13:13.280 -> 01:13:17.760] Thank you to VoiceOverMan.
[01:13:17.760 -> 01:13:22.160] Thank you to whoever made the old Lewis Hamilton funko pop
[01:13:22.160 -> 01:13:25.840] and the brand new Lewis Hamilton Funko Pop that I will definitely
[01:13:25.840 -> 01:13:32.660] be buying and or receiving from Santa Claus, and our four-legged executive producers.
[01:13:32.660 -> 01:13:36.500] If you're an audio listener, first off, we love you so much, hope you have a beautiful
[01:13:36.500 -> 01:13:38.960] day and that your pillow is always cold.

[01:13:43.360 -> 01:13:45.500] If you're watching on YouTube, oh my goodness,

[01:13:48.000 -> 01:13:50.400] every single time, but I hope you never sit in traffic
[01:13:50.400 -> 01:13:51.400] ever again.
[01:13:51.400 -> 01:13:53.900] And while you're at it, subscribe, like the video,

[01:13:57.800 -> 01:13:59.800] Or just being an F1 fan overall?

[01:14:32.080 -> 01:14:38.080] Today, again, felt like some grid de lulu and not a gridwalk.
[01:14:38.080 -> 01:14:39.760] There was no Dutch GP.
[01:14:39.760 -> 01:14:40.720] What?
[01:14:40.720 -> 01:14:41.220] Dutch?
[01:14:41.220 -> 01:14:41.720] What?
[01:14:41.720 -> 01:14:42.220] Right.
[01:14:42.220 -> 01:14:42.720] Huh?
[01:14:42.720 -> None] Huh? Dutch? What?
